A Unitree robot just strolls across the stage at a robot combat event, no fight, no fanfare. The caption jokes: "I was just passing by, is that rude?"

Over 2,000 humanoid robots have moved into factories across Guangdong this year, Guangdong's provincial government said at a briefing in Guangzhou on September 29. The province expects that to top 3,000 by year end.
This isn't one flagship factory with a robot on the line for photos. It's a whole province counting them by the thousand.

Xiaomi's new 18 Pro series adds an AI photo assistant that tells you how to frame the shot and how to pose, before you tap the shutter.
One more sign camera phones are selling the software layer now, not just the lens.

A humanoid from Unitree took the stage at a high school art festival in Dalate Banner, Inner Mongolia, between the singing and dance acts.
China's robot makers are already treating school events as a normal place to show up, not just factories or trade shows.

China launched 4 rockets in 45 hours. Indian media says they couldn't keep up.
One of the launchers was Zhuque-2, a commercial rocket. This is what a satellite internet build-out looks like when it's running on a schedule, not a one-off.

Zhuque-3's second flight: first stage landed back on land at the recovery site, second stage put the Honghu-03 satellite into orbit.
LandSpace is chasing what SpaceX does with Falcon 9, but landing on land instead of a drone ship.

Some remote-sensing satellites now use AI to screen and process images in orbit, Chinese state broadcaster CCTV-1 reports. For time-sensitive tasks such as disaster response, parts of a workflow that used to take half a day to a day can be cut to minutes.
The shift is from sending every image to Earth first to handling some of the data in space. Scaling it means building constellations in batches of dozens or hundreds of satellites.

Jiangxi's first "token factory" just opened in Nanchang's high-tech zone: a facility built to produce AI compute as a local utility, so businesses can plug into AI without building their own clusters.
The "token factory" label has been popping up in city after city this year. Compute is getting built out province by province now, not just in Beijing and Shenzhen.

Unitree's humanoid robots made it into the America's Got Talent finale, sharing the stage with human performers. Winner gets announced tomorrow night.
A talent-show routine is choreography, not autonomy. Worth noting Unitree's making it this far on a stage built for humans.

DeepSeek just shipped v0.2 of Harness, its desktop agent app for macOS and Windows, and it's still calling it a preview.
The headline number: about 60% of Harness users already run third-party plugins, by DeepSeek's own API-user count. This update adds a plugin manager so installing one is just typing an npm package name, no command line, plus scheduled automation tasks.
DeepSeek is building an OpenAI Operator/Claude Code style agent shell around its own models, and leaning on outside developers to fill it in rather than building every feature itself.

China now requires EV battery packs not to catch fire or explode when a cell goes into thermal runaway, watched for two hours in the test. The rule took effect in July and is called the strictest in the world.
Huawei's pitch: one Luxeed RX battery submerged, scraped, crashed and pierced with a nail, back to back.
