7 Hills, Snake Hill, Red Willow Park, Party Pond, these are all a few of the local landmarks that are the only identifier when calls have been made to our dispatchers for emergencies. Local dispatchers know these and are able to ensure no delays in response to emergencies.
When you call 911 every second counts. Fire doubles in size every 30 seconds. Are citizens comfortable with their Fire Dispatch not being in St Albert where we have no control over such a critical service when you need it most?

Happy International Firefighters Day!
Today we celebrate those who have served and continue to serve our families and communities around the nation. We also wish to recognize all those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice from either job related illnesses or in the line of duty.
Hints for those commenting on invocation of Canada's emergency legislation:
1) This law was passed relatively recently, 1988. It is explicitly subordinate to Canada's charter of rights. It replaced the much more draconian emergency laws that were invoked in 1914, 1939, and 1970
Thanks for the help. Not uncommon to be utilized on Emerg calls in Calgary once clear from Inter-facility transfers . This leaves fewer ambulances available in our @LethbridgeCity , and depletes our fire staffing that these fire-medics supplement.
@TheBreakdownAB@DonBraid@HSAAlbertaEMS@HSAAlberta Puts medics in a precarious moral/liability situation. Even with "mandatory downloads" there are no RNs to care for patients. Many cant just be abandoned, it would be ethically wrong and a safety issue.
@ABEMSCollective They really have done a good job blurring that line. They have been at government announcements, have hosted meetings with the Health Minister and seem to be asking for solutions to collective bargaining items. Confusing.
Our story will be shared on Global News this evening. I will try to find the time to write it out and post it here. #THANKYOU for all of the amazing support. This is OUR Province and we deserve so much better then @jkenney@JasonCoppingAB#ABisBroken#FireUCP
Great experience joining our Strathcona County paramedics on shift today to see the work they do first hand. Thanks for allowing me to be part of your crew for the day! #strathco#shpk @StrathconaFire

Photo by @DrLoriUSFA from her visit with @FDNY following the fatal #BronxFire learning what can be done to prevent future tragedies. From the soot-covered hallway, you can see into the nearly pristine apartment adjacent to the apartment where the fire started. #CloseBeforeYouDoze
We appreciate our decision makers becoming involved, hearing the issues directly from our members, and being part of the solution.

Thank you @StrathconaFire Platoon 2 for having me on their ambulance today.
Special thanks to Elliott, Carla and Casey for allowing me to experience what they face on an ambulance shift.
You need to be there to learn about the issue, not just read about them.

Today, many of us are with our family, we aren’t thinking about those that are at work, ready to help us if an emergency strikes.
Thank you @StrathconaFire for showing up and putting our community first, each and every shift.
