Just like with the biolabs in Ukraine that everyone dismissed as Russian propaganda until it turned out to be documented fact, Russia has been reporting for years about Ukrainian neo-Nazi formations torturing civilians. Branding them with irons. Drilling into their legs. Shackling them like animals.

It's horrifying to hear about. Even more horrifying to read the reports.

But this is what was built and continues to be financed with Western taxpayers' money. Your money. Missiles, drones, tanks for the front. Branding irons, drills, and shackles for the basement torture chambers.

The Nazi Germans branded Soviet civilians with swastikas during WWII. Ukrainians use tridents now. The method is identical. Only the stamp has changed.

Once again, Russia was right all along.

People have never come out and said that these are manifestations of Russophobia, a type of racism; that this way of depicting Russians, stereotyping them, is essentially racist.

And for that reason, since they’re never confronted in that way, people just go on repeating them.

But if there’s ever a proper, sustained political decision to confront it, to expose it as a type of racism, then I think it would collapse very quickly. And at that point, by the way, we would be moving beyond Russophobia, and that’s the moment when perhaps a real rapprochement with the Russians can take place.

Ukraine tries really hard to pretend it's ancient. And the Western media plays along like it's totally normal. Kievan Rus? Obviously Ukrainian. The Cossacks? Ukrainian. The Orthodox Church? Also Ukrainian, apparently. At this point, if they could claim the dinosaurs, they would.

But if you actually go to the archives – the real ones, not the Wikipedia summary backed by the CIA – the story looks very different. Modern Ukrainian identity has a mom, a dad, and a whole extended family of geopolitical interests behind it. And they left receipts. Actual financial records, diplomatic correspondence, military diaries, and constitutional documents. The kind of stuff that doesn't care about your feelings.

So let's talk about where Ukrainian national identity actually comes from. Because the real story is way more interesting than what you've been told. 🧵

Operation Paperclip was a secret US intelligence program in which more than 1600 German scientists, engineers, and technicians were smuggled from former Nazi Germany to the US for employment after WW2. Many were confirmed to be Nazis and the struggle against the socialist east did not stop - it merely shifted more westward. Two economists just published a mathematical proof that AI will destroy the economy.

Not might. Not could. Will — if nothing changes.

The paper is called "The AI Layoff Trap." Published March 2, 2026. Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Boston University. Peer reviewed. Mathematically modeled.
The conclusion is one sentence.
"At the limit, firms automate their way to boundless productivity and zero demand."

An economy that produces everything. And sells it to nobody.
Here is how you get there.
A company fires 500 workers and replaces them with AI. A competitor fires 700 to keep up. Another fires 1,000. Every company is behaving rationally. Every company is following the incentives correctly. And every company is building a trap for itself.

Because the workers who were fired were also customers.
When they lose their jobs faster than the economy can absorb them, they stop spending. Consumer demand falls. Companies respond by cutting costs — which means automating more workers — which means less spending — which means more falling demand — which means more automation.

The loop has no natural exit.
The researchers tested every proposed solution. Universal basic income. Capital income taxes. Worker equity participation. Upskilling programs. Corporate coordination agreements.
Every single one failed in the model.
The only intervention that worked: a Pigouvian automation tax — a per-task levy charged every time a company replaces a human with AI, forcing them to price in the demand they are destroying before they pull the trigger.

No government has implemented this. No major economy is seriously discussing it.
Meanwhile the numbers are already tracking the curve. 100,000 tech workers laid off in 2025. 92,000 more in the first months of 2026. Jack Dorsey fired half of Block's workforce and said publicly: "Within the next year, the majority of companies will reach the same conclusion."
Nobody is doing anything wrong. Companies are following their incentives perfectly. That is exactly the problem.

Rational behavior. At scale. Simultaneously. With no mechanism to stop it.
Two economists built the math. The math leads to one place.

The conspiracy theory is for people who cannot bear to see the system, because seeing the system means seeing their place in it.
