There were no Saba Saba protesters on the streets. It almost looks like the police organised today's demonstration themselves. Meanwhile, ordinary Kenyans are left paying the price with restricted movement in and out of Nairobi CBD. Ruto panicked.

DECLARATION OF A PUBLIC HOLIDAY ON THE SABA SABA IN HONOR OF THE FALLEN HEROES
Pursuant to Articles 1, 2, 3, 10, and 37 of the Constitution of Kenya;
WHEREAS all sovereign power belongs to the people of Kenya and shall be exercised only in accordance with the Constitution;
WHEREAS the Constitution enshrines the national values and principles of governance, including democracy, the rule of law, human dignity, social justice, integrity, transparency, accountability, and public participation;
WHEREAS every person has a duty to respect, uphold, and defend the Constitution, and every citizen has the right to assemble, demonstrate, picket, and present petitions peacefully and unarmed;
WHEREAS many Kenyans believe that the current administration has failed to uphold these constitutional principles and that serious allegations of excessive use of force against civilians during public demonstrations warrant accountability;
NOW, THEREFORE, in solidarity with the victims of the Saba Saba movement, and in honour and remembrance of 12-year-old BRIDGIT NJOKI, who was shot and killed during the recent demonstrations, as well as all other victims of violence,
I HEREBY call upon the people of Kenya to observe 7 July 2026 (Saba Saba Day) as a People's Public Holiday by staying at home peacefully.
Let this day be dedicated to remembrance, peaceful civic reflection, and the reaffirmation of the constitutional values of democracy, justice, accountability, and the sovereignty of the people.

As Kenya marks Saba Saba 2026, citizens across the country are once again raising their voices to defend the Constitution, human rights, and the sanctity of life. Saba Saba has long symbolized the struggle for democracy and accountable governance. Today, it also represents a collective demand for justice for victims of enforced disappearances, abductions, unlawful killings, and all forms of impunity.
Communities in informal settlements such as Mathare, Korogocho, Mukuru, Kibera, and many others continue to bear a heavy burden of violence and insecurity. Families whose loved ones remain missing are still searching for answers. Their pain should not be ignored, and every reported case deserves a prompt, transparent, and independent

Museveni claiming Kizza Besigye “refused to be charged” is the most foul lie yet.
A man locked in detention doesn’t get to “refuse” anything — the state decides when and how to parade him. Don’t make up his 2 years persecution to appear as consent matter
Wamunyoro, a little-known village, has become a beehive of activities, not only as a political knob but also as a social hub!
Kenyans from all walks of life gather here for social engagements with Rigathi Gachagua, Rev. Dorcas Rigathi, and the villagers.
This afternoon, we received a newly wedded couple, Mr. Charles Nguni Muriuki and Agnes Nduta Nguni, their children, grandchildren, as well as their entourage.
We had fun. We discussed the family as a strong building block for great nations and societies. We encouraged the couple to remain strong as a family, as this begets a strong nation.
Leaders must lead by example by respecting the family unit and upholding family values.
May Almighty God bless our families and protect them.

Today was a great day engaging grassroots leaders from Othaya, the land of President Mwai Kibaki.
I have benefited greatly from their wisdom, focus, and experience, having been represented by the greatest leader of our time, Mwai Kibaki, for 40 years.
I recall having greatly influenced the election of a replacement for Mwai Kibaki, effectively undermining the pride and stature of the constituency. Othaya was then represented by a great mind; an eloquent, a great and an astute debater, and an effective people-representative.
We have agreed with the people that this mistake is regrettable and will not happen again.
We have all agreed, in one accord, that the General Election of 10th August 2027 will be a great opportunity to elect a sharp, intelligent, and focused leader who will bring back the memories of Mwai Kibaki and guarantee Othaya a great future.
Othaya will be great again.
Consultations continue.
God Bless Othaya. God Bless Kenya.
KISII VIOLENCE: 7 suspects arrested in connection with attack on Linda Mwananchi convoy in Keumbu fail to take plea after arresting officer and prosecutor fail to show up; magistrate orders them back to cells until both sides are ready.
Show me anyone who has ever gone to jail in the name of ' illegal gathering'. Concentrate on collecting bribes, you know nothing about the law. Article 1,2 and 37 are three very powerful articles of the CoK 2010 you cannot just drink 'achwaka' and start denouncing via press conferences. Are you aware that there's a prosecutor who is currently depressed after being ordered by the High Court Nakuru and Court of Appeal to individually pay six people he charged for attending a disco matanga Ksh 800,000 each? Chesa!
