@MelechThomas But then how would gun manufacturers profit from that?
So far, most of the GOP proposals seem aimed at making sure weapon sales will continue to grow.
@jonnxone @Vinod_r108@PicturesFoIder And a portion of it should come out of the salaries and pension plans of the prosecutors and police involved in the investigation. This will help motivate them to do their due diligence.
@HumanityCritic If you date someone who is obviously less than half your age and you expect everyone to ignore this fact, you are living in a fantasy world twice over.
@RpsAgainstTrump Most definitely. When was the last time he said something worth hearing?
He constantly whines about problems of his own making, only praises himself and the dictators he admires, and puts down anyone who doesn't kiss his butt.
So many so-called conservatives have a habit of using music created by left-leaning artists without paying attention to the meaning of the lyrics. One classic example, Rush Limbaugh's infatuation with The Pretender's "My City Was Gone".
@EdKrassen @WilliamLaurent3 Somehow 50 other industrialized nations have come up with various approaches to reduce gun violence.
Meanwhile, the US approach is to do nothing and wonder why the problem "can't be solved."
Nothing changes because:
1. Many Americans are convinced that increased profits for gun makers equals increased safety, despite growing evidence to the contrary.
2. Many of our elected officials would rather save their own jobs than save their constituents' lives.
I’m sick and tired!
Robert Card, the shooter in Maine, reportedly reported mental health issues, including “hearing voices."
He also reportedly threatened to shoot up the National Guard base.
Stop it with the 2nd Amendment argument. It doesn’t prohibit us from talking steps to stop this.
Why can’t we just have universal background checks?
Why can’t we require background checks on all sales of guns including all sold at gun shows?
Why can’t we regulate AR-15s and similar guns like we do machine guns and sawed-off shotguns?
Why can’t we fix our mental health issues in this country?
Why?
@LakotaMan1 Those who insist on remaining asleep want to continue dreaming of a mythical past, which for many was an actual nightmare. Please stay woke.
@LakotaMan1 Darryl Hughley has often said that the most dangerous place for black people to live is in white people's imaginations. That same place can also be deadly for others, including other white people.
This country needs to end its dysfunctional relationship with guns.
Some people prefer American mythology to actual U.S. history.
But people of strong and virtuous character tell the truth and learn from their past and present mistakes.
My Republican critics are calling me “woke” for exposing you to the U.S. history they’re trying to hide. Nonsense. I’m simply providing you a supplemental education — that their schools failed to teach.
