@CoachJonBeck Most players and parents have the wrong dreams…go watch the elite of your sport play and practice, close up! Before you do any work…are you big enough and athletic enough…you can’t just grow to 6’6” because you want to. Not saying don’t play…just maybe don’t expect elite.
Don’t let others define who you are—your identity comes from within.

Don’t ever confuse rank & leadership. Having authority & being a leader are not the same. Leaders are people who make a conscious decision to look after others. Sometimes that comes with absolutely no authority, but those are the people we trust & follow. Leaders don’t need rank!
Man. The kids are really under attack. I'd put it at a level that's not depression. It's more like an oppression. It breaks my heart to see the pain, fear and anxiety in their eyes. It's a tough time of year as they finish the school year.
I sent this message to my team tonight. Hopefully this encourages you as well.
In recent days I’ve had about a half dozen conversations with guys on our team about the anxiety, worry and lack of peace they feel in their lives right now. We are in a battle for what is good.
The enemy wants to rob and steal your joy and peace. He is on the prowl, looking to devour what he can get his hands on. But that doesn’t have to be the case. We can be confident in what God promises us.
Consider this from Philippians 4, starting in verse 6. “The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
I just want you guys to know you are loved and valued. You are a warrior but you don’t need to fight using just your human strength. The Lord has you. He will protect you. He will fight for you. Just put your mind on Him.

A guy who is the same in adversity as he is when everyone is praising him, usually that’s the type of guy that I’d like to follow”

People look for consistency in others because it shows trust, reliability, and character.
When people know that you're consistent, they know what to expect. They know that you'll act the same in adversity as you do on the regular days.
So how can you be more consistent?
Prioritize Goals Over Mood - It means choosing daily discipline over how you feel. Set your sights on your long-term goals, not your fleeting feelings. Your actions should reflect your future aspirations and when you take action, your mood will follow.
Live the Details and Embrace the Boredom - Embrace the daily grind accepting that is where true growth happens. Perform with precision and practice with detailed concentration. This focus and precision is what cultivates discipline and leads to mastery.
Schedule It and Prioritize It - Make your priorities non-negotiable by knowing when and where they will happen. This ensures that your most important things aren't overlooked, but are part of your daily routine. Plan your day around your goals, not the other way around.
Choose Consistency Over Perfection - Strive for regular progress, not flawless execution or perfection. You won't be perfect and you will miss a day, but hold yourself accountable to keeping it up. This mindset prevents discouragement and promotes a growth-mindset.
The value of consistency is undervalued and underappreciated.
