The law was already passed in 2025. To give parents of children living with disability tax exemptions.

More than a year later, the National Treasury and CS Mbadi and NCPWD have refused to put in place the regulations needed for them to access the exemption.

I find that extremely unfair to families who are already carrying such a heavy burden.

Lived in Mombasa for 4 years and never once visited Nguuni Nature Sanctuary.

You don't exactly go looking for ostrich, eland, or giraffes on the Indian Ocean coast.

Every inch of this sanctuary was an abandoned limestone quarry, before the legendary Dr René Haller (him of Haller Park, look him up) spent decades turning rubble into wilderness.

I really wish Mombasa could have a good leader.. when was the last time it did?

Avenue Hotel (now Emperor Plaza) is a historic landmark at the corner of Kenyatta Avenue and Koinange Street in Nairobi 🇰🇪 CBD.

Key History
- Built 1927–1929: Six-storey reinforced concrete building constructed by Scotsman James Walker (owner). Lessees included partners from the Trocadero Restaurant. It featured modern amenities for the era, including an electric lift, ballroom, and top-floor tower flying the Union Jack. Opened around February 1929.
- 1961: Fully refurbished and renamed New Avenue Hotel. Popular ground-floor bar in the 1970s.
- 1980s onward: Converted from hotel to commercial use (shops/offices). Briefly operated as Excelsior Hotel in the late 1980s.
- Current: Known as Emperor Plaza, a commercial building with offices and retail. Owned by the Pandit family (Rajesh and Dhruv Pandit). Listed for sale around 2018 for approx. KSh 750 million.

The building reflects Nairobi’s colonial-era growth and later evolution into a modern commercial hub, though now dwarfed by taller skyscrapers.

Auditor General reveals serious issues with Kenya Forest Service land records and assets for the year 2025.

She says that:
— About 556 hectares of forest land have been illegally taken
— Only 77 out of 265 forest blocks have title deeds
— Buildings worth about Sh2.9 billion are recorded, but some assets are missing or not fully valued properly
