Lakini on a serious note wth was that? Hata hawajali they’re creating a precedent. Not a fan of Gachagua at all but as a big fan of the Kenyan Constitution I am flabbergasted by the implication of that holding.
High Court got it so wrong on so many (elementary) issues in this Gachagua case.
Unfortunately, the main & ultimate damage is to the Constitution & not just to Riggy G.
That is why we should all be concerned.
Worse the overall posture of @Kenyajudiciary of late is concerning!
Yes I will write about the Judgment (Tonight, if I get the judgment). But with all due respect, this is judicial nonsense. It is a treason against the Constitution and it must be called out; openly and bluntly.
It is not about Gachagua, it is about a Judiciary that is going down
After nine hours public reading that bench has left most stunned with their confusion. I'd seen one at 18 👀
Law has lost.
And this was HC. Next step is where law goes to die. Mai Lord.
Girlies are winning judiciary is sinking with just an year to 2027. Its not looking good.
It would be to that man's benefit for DO to be allowed to vie. And the pastor's husband is too power hungry to have foresight in chess game.
Also, one in that bench was mentioned during Chitembwe saga so na muonea 18.
A matter of Law v Politics v Realpolitik. Langu jicho 👀
On the Westerly skies tonight one can see two bright spots which I reckon are Venus and one another planet. The skies are also clear and full of stars. Lovely. Look up.
Moment I read it was a 350 page ruling I dropped off.
Get the judges may feel they need to show cleverness, that they worked, that they are contributing to jurisprudence.
But reading reasoned summary of judgement was enough.
Then wakilis can argue with the long version.
Three judges reading one judgement the whole day is poor use of resources. No wonder cases last decades in KE courts.
If judiciary was streamlined Kenyans would benefit. But Judicial Officers, Lawyers would lose money, power. And so we are stuck with current backlogged system.

I’m glad that FIFA decided to reverse this policy and allow water bottles to be brought into World Cup games.
No one should have to fear being priced out of being hydrated, especially fans who are often waiting for hours before a game in extreme heat.
So much about these visa admissions difficulties for the World Cup was foretold & obvious. It’s a story about US govt policy. But also a story of FIFA hubris, mainly Infantino, who dismissed entirely legitimate media reporting on the matter repeatedly. (This from August 2025)
“The reason why people don't necessarily apply the 'sportswashing' label equally to places like the United States boils down to racism.”
@mehdirhasan and political scientist Jules Boykoff on why the U.S. gets a pass on sportswashing its image.
Mexico will host Iran’s national football team during the FIFA World Cup, with the squad set to stay there and travel to the US for its matches after Washington declined to host them, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said https://t.co/zX2ibk8LdQ
🚨🇮🇷 NEW: Iran's World Cup squad has been notified they must enter and leave US soil on the same day of their matches played in the United States
All of Iran’s group stage games are in the US
- 15th June - 🇳🇿 New Zealand
- 21st June - 🇧🇪 Belgium
- 26th June - 🇪🇬 Egypt
Looked at schedule and picked 27 of 72 group stage matches to watch, hopefully ⚽
Focussed mostly on African teams. Weird hours remind me of Brazil 2014.
It feels like such a dead World Cup. Due to the hosts. But also too much bad is currently going on globally, locally. Sigh.
Andre Agassi had a beautiful message for Maja Chwalińska after her run at Roland Garros:
"If you don't know why you deserve it, let me help you understand that.. Keep making yourself better because you're a gift to the sport." 🥹
Maja Chwalinska to Mirra Andreeva: “You’re so young and talented. It’s so annoying.” 😂
A big congrats to the qualifier for a spectacular run to the final 🌟🇵🇱
#RolandGarros
From champion of a WTA 125 in Portugal to runner-up at #RolandGarros in just seven weeks. Maja Chwalinska just lived one of the best Cinderella stories in tennis and got a well-deserved standing ovation.
