@SamAdlerBell Big whoop. It's good enough to replace a million wankers but it's not bad enough to replace me. A.I. only can replicate published authors. But I'm an unpublished author, and we are are a special breed. You can't replace us. You wouldn't want to: you'd only lose money if you did.
@cliftonaduncan The answer is money. All that 70s music was funded by record labels who paid for those kids to get better equipment and go into a studio and work with a professional producer, then booked them a tour and paid for promotion. That practice ended a very long time ago.
DFW predicted X when he wrote “I am in here.”
So I check in every few months and see all y’all just slammin the screen of yr phone with two thumbs making all this CONTENT! Day in and day out can’t and won’t stop.
Say it out loud because you mean it and it’s true:
I am in here.
@bartlebytaco I suggest working your way through the highlighted albums in order. So many incredible songs all the way up to the present moment. Sounds like they didn’t get lazy: you did!
@MrHWM It literally gives you what you thought was missing in Portrait. Sadly only a portion survived but it’s the best part: Stephen the too-smart student, annoying his teachers and trying to get a date! Legit Max Fischer/Rushmore vibes.
@damiankelleher I read The Magic Mountain when I was a security guard in North Philadelphia. I worked from midnight till 8 in the morning. Every few nights a pack of wild dogs would sweep through the parking lot like a storm. That book fucked me up.
