@glennbeck Concurrent education (aka dual enrollment) is the life hack ppl are missing. Take college classes while in high school. Most districts will pay your tuition. You get credit for both your high school education and towards your undergraduate. This can save a family thousands.

@ThoughtCrimes80 Correct that “nothing is free.” But take a deep dive into student lending and you’ll see why so many call the system predatory. Many borrowers want to pay and aren’t deadbeats. Yet balances can grow even while they make required monthly payments. That shouldn’t happen.

@PaulCharchian I agree with you in theory here Charch. I’m fully against censorship. The part we disagree on is “sharp ppl rising to the top”. When it comes to social media, lowbrow will always win over insightful content. Wish it weren’t so, but ppl got to have their mindless entertainment.

The students I know don’t/didn’t live lavishly. Every penny they earn goes/went to inflated tuition. The colleges have millions, not the students.

@DebtCrisisOrg All these SAVE, PAYE, & REPAYE programs are just treating the symptoms of a broken system. We need an actual cure. Bring back bankruptcy protections. Limit loan amounts, thereby forcing schools to lower tuition rates. Bring the market back into balance.

@DebtCrisisOrg Kids have been told to “go to college” since grade school. Society made a degree seem like the only path to success. Colleges knew students believed they needed their product, so tuition kept climbing. I don’t blame the kids for buying into it and paying the high costs.

What else has increased that much in 46 years? Not healthcare, nor housing. Ppl lose their minds when their Netflix bill goes up $5, but could care less that the colleges are gouging young ppl.

@GovofCO Governor, hopefully you also made mention of dual enrollment/concurrent education that’s being offered here in the state. Coloradans can save $60,000+ on the cost of higher education through that program offered at high schools and community colleges.

@chrisvanderveen The biggest issue in 2020–21 was the lack of government transparency, and it still is. Regardless of politics, ask yourself: “Is my government being honest with me on (any issue)?” The answer is likely “no”. If trust erodes, ppl will question the narrative during the next crisis.

@VladTheInflator As a father of 2 “college kids today” you couldn’t be more wrong. My kids lived on campus w/ 3 roommates. Ate in the school cafeteria. And worked 20 hours part time. Nothing students 40 years ago didn’t also do. The problem is, over 40 years the cost of tuition increased 1000%!

@CBSNews Bring back bankruptcy protections for student loans. Make the lenders have some skin in game and they won’t hand out these predatory loans like candy to 18 & 19 yo “kids”. The current system needs to be shut down.
