@JordanRossMedia Would be great to see BC do more of what so many American park campgrounds seem to do with more options(!) including hike-in/ “wilderness” spots, motorcycle spots, and bicycle spots at different rates.
@JordanRossMedia I was shocked to see a lovely local campground charging the same for a tent spot vs a fully serviced RV spot. When asked, the owner explained that it’s because guests in tents usually require much more cleanup and labour hours (use the shower, washroom, and other facilities).
@MCasperc Peach? Can’t tell for sure… but doesn’t look like the terminal leaf bud (middle of the triple bud) has burst/ broken yet. It would clearly show green. Likely in bud swell stage: buds are plump as tree has reached it’s required chill hours (early winter) but not opening yet!
Biquette the goat, sold to an abattoir after she stopped producing milk but was rescued by punks and then spent 10 years watching grindcore bands. She could come and go as she pleased and, in the words of her rescuers, “escaped death, lived punk”. Absolute legend.
@ChristiansonAmy The only “official” contact we’ve had was a letter from the provincial tax office a few weeks ago saying: it looks like you *might* have been in a fire boundary… should we change your property value?
@ChristiansonAmy As someone who had structures burn this year, I don’t think this exists. Not in rural areas. Insurance records would only be helpful for the insured (not many folks in my area). We never had any contact from the regional district, or our local gov’t. We have no fire department.
Because I keep coming back to it and wanting to refer to the interview… the brilliant @TressiRL speaking with @ezraklein on choosing not to reject the new as we age in a rapidly changing world. (Ezra Klein Podcast, April 23 2021) https://t.co/fISshQpf0s
@dryspikesedge @lars_brudvig Oh interesting! I thought it was Pinesap (hypopitys monotropa) which occurs in this region, but thought it was strange that it was located in such a bare, dry area.
After most of our property burned in the #mckaycreekfire at the end of June, there were several things that happened #afterwildfire that we didn’t anticipate. I’m curious what you have experienced after fire that others might not anticipate. #bcwildfire#wildfire
I’ll start:
