Masters in Health Promotion, maternal health. Will wear a mask as long as it takes to protect those at risk. will block any anti masking/ vax comments she/her
@MeetJess I can't bring myself to watch the whole episode. Her entry onto the stage was painful enough. It wasn't even appropriate in the before times to show up to an event with the flu. The pendulum has swung SO far the other way, despite limitless research suggesting otherwise.
@NukitToBeSure The Western ideology is also that affordable= cheap. In addition to the visual reminder, people are under the impression that they have to pay $$$$. Instead of using $.1 worth of baking soda to clean their bathroom, they would rather pay $25 for an 'organic' cleaner at Whole Food
@RimmerDax@ESL_fairy This narrative was circulated and perpetuated by anti-maskers. I worked with newborns during the early part of the pandemic and always wore an N95. Babies absolutely knew when I was smiling and masking did not have an impact on their language development.
@1goodtern In my industry (prenatal care) Dr's used to recommend smoking during pregnancy to have a smaller baby to encourage an easier birth. Same industry that recommended alcohol for teething babies
@1goodtern I've seen a (small) but noticeable increase in (KN95 or N95) mask wearing in my city (in Canada) BUT, but they have waited until our city is completely overrun with flu, and three children have died. Rather than being proactive, those who pull out their mask stash are reactive.
@scott_squires@DaniBeckman Why isn't this a mainstream commercial and shared on every social media site? This is good for those who don't want to read a single thing
@lama_agile@brownecfm And I just don't have the spoons to have to suggest to a medical professional that there is an ongoing f***g pandemic and she should be protecting her patients.
@lama_agile@brownecfm My GP is also a human with 3 young kids. In a city where very few people mask. Do I wish it were different, yes. Could she, at the very least, mask in the office, also yes. Do I feel like I need to bring this up? No. Because I truly doubt that it would change anything, sadly.
@wadesworld2112@brownecfm Neither my GP's office of about 30 or so staff, nor the hospital where I had my hip replacement last year (from intake to xray to OR) did I see anyone wearing a respirator.

@LanaLuBerry@1goodtern At the VERY least, they could follow public health guidelines, because in my province, at my local hospitals, it is requested that all people wear a mask..... the number of Dr's who mask in my local hospitals, and at my Dr's office is close to ZERO. That doesn't take an research
