@DrDebraSoh Lack of ability to hold an in-person conversation coupled with intense pressure for perfection. These kids are so attached to their phones, they don’t know that life is not a highlight reel.
@Prissi_coffee@AbigailShrier@RoisinMichaux Your daughter’s teacher is likely correct. In addition to poor reading-education practices, the post-Covid decline is astounding. I teach 8th grade English. The difference between the number of below-grade-level readers pre-Covid vs. now is horrifying.
@law45012@RickyJa56396441 @Travis_in_Flint They should. I went back for my M.Ed. as a career switcher. I have faithfully paid about $44k over 7.5yrs. My loan balance has only decreased about 6k. I don’t want forgiveness- I would like a more reasonable interest rate.
@SydneyLWatson The grammar and mechanics of his post are a dead giveaway of his lack of intelligence. There is no way this guy has any clue how old a woman is.
@krassenstein I liked both of them (H&M) very much, and did not go in for the Kate vs. Meghan narrative. As time passed, tho, their behavior turned more narcissistic and I became less interested in what they have to say.
@NSBooklady2@RoyalFamily@wabbey My Nana moved from London to the US after the war. She never forgot her British roots, though. She was a few years older than the Queen and always adored her. I’ll be up early on Saturday to watch in her honor. I’m looking forward to it. I hope you enjoy watching!
@bariweiss The excerpt used in the OP may not be the best one to have chosen. Ms. Mareko has made 200k through surrogacy. This excerpt makes it sound as though she ostensibly sold babies. The ethical issues surrounding surrogacy are dicey.
@RandomDude1971@OliLondonTV I think Dylan is a narcissist who is being done no favors by the response to his current behavior. I also think, sadly, that when the spotlight fades, Dylan will have a hard time adjusting and will likely harm himself one way or another.
@OliLondonTV@CBCNews@CBCCanada Wait. She’s a journalist? There’s not a single end-mark punctuation in that screed. How is one supposed to understand the intensity of her burning passion when all she provides is word soup? Sorry, Oli. Thanks for standing up for women.
@jjkendal1982 @kevdavo@RogersHistory I agree. I am a teacher and I work far beyond contract. My hub was a city cop for 30 years. Work/life balance was virtually nonexistent. This isn’t a competition.
@Kingeh@ElijahSchaffer I don’t, do you? People saw this happen. They saw the man try to get up. No one went to him. You’re correct in that we’re seeing a snapshot. However, no one went to that man in these moments and that is concerning.
@Kingeh@ElijahSchaffer Of course there are differences. However, no one, not one person, not one group of people, intervened? They watched a man die? While recording it? I am watching the same video, and I am perplexed by the seeming apathy. I expect better from humanity.
@Kingeh@ElijahSchaffer I was 7 mos pregnant when a motorcyclist was hit in front of my car. I stopped on an active roadway, knelt beside him, and provided comfort to the man while calling 911. My concern was for the injured human being in front of me. Enough people stepping in can make a difference.
@ZeekArkham We moved into a new house this weekend. My first order of business was organizing the pantry. I was feeling pretty good about it until I realized I was racist.
@SamWalworth@KaeleyT I’m an 8th grade language arts teacher. I assure you, they do write (poor) essays about the cause du jour. In January, I graded an essay about being “assigned female at birth.” We have quite a few “trans” confused students.
