all of these things can be simultaneously true:
- the red card handed to balogun was a horrible call & the process was wrong
- the lifted suspension of the red card was a bad process and handled wrong
- the reaction from belgium is over the top and embarrassing lol
This is a hilarious argument re the Balogun red card.
1) A play happened on the field.
2) VAR reviewed+reversed the previous decision.
3) FIFA reviewed+reversed the previous decision.
The argument below says step 2 is valid, but step 3 is totally out of bounds…the problem is they are the exact same thing!
Why is one review+reversal valid but the other is not? It is an identical process. Both times FIFA considers the evidence before them and makes an informed decision from a more omniscient vantage point.
If you are against any review at all, you should be against VAR as well, in which case you should be arguing for the call on the field…which was…drumroll please…NO RED CARD 😂
This argument runs entirely on bias. Totally hilarious.
The Washington Nationals' record for runs in a regular season is 873 in 2019.
The 2026 Nats are on pace for 872 runs.
What the Nats are doing with their new, analytics-based process, improved coaching and promising young players is one of the best stories in MLB.

Eight years ago today was one of the greatest days in D.C. sports history.
I would argue this is the best Cup raise of all time.
The emotion, disbelief and the primal scream from Alex Ovechkin is something Caps fans will never forget.
I still get goosebumps watching it.
There’s real momentum right now for AI safety policy. Yesterday’s EO on cyber was an important step forward.
We’re proposing a set of ideas for policymakers to consider next and to put the US out in front on frontier safety.

George Washington declined to be featured on currency when he was living, fearing it would be reminiscent of a monarch.
Congress in 1866 passed the Thayer amendment, which stated "no portrait or likeness of any living person shall be engraved or placed upon any of the bonds, securities, notes, or postal currency of the United States."

Unequivocal Top-10 offensive player in MLB right now. He's only 23.
🚨🎙️ Robin van Persie on Bruno Fernandes chances not been converted:
🗣️ “Bruno Fernandes has created 132 chances in the Premier League this season, yet only has 20 assists to show for it?
In fact, he's created 670 chances in the Premier League alone since he joined Manchester United. Now imagine if 40% of those chances were all converted.
Our forwards seriously need to step up next season, because you just have to imagine what these guys have done to Bruno.
If our frontline possessed even an ounce of elite, cold-blooded composure, Bruno would be sitting on a completely untouchable assist tally right now.
Instead, he has to practically double his workload just to drag us over the line, casually creating 58 more chances than any other player in the league this season just to equal the 20-assist record.
Our boys have to do much better next season. We cannot keep wasting the peak years of the most creative playmaker the Premier League has ever seen.”
