People don’t know how to sit with their jealousy or insecurity, so they intellectualise them, moralise them and weaponise them against the subject of their feelings. It’s easier to moralise envy or inadequacy than confront it because doing so absolves you of the responsibility to look inward and casts the other person as the problem. It’s a cheap way to escape personal responsibility but at the end of the day you still have to live with yourself and you can’t run from what’s happening inside you by making someone else the villain.
