Performers are not robots, anything can happen at any time. For health, it's better to prevent than to pick up the pieces after. Cancelling a show is heartbreaking for the fans, but don't buy the ticket if you cannot handle the risk. No one forced you to spend the money.

Apparently a hot take but if you buy tickets for a live performance, you have to be aware that last minute changes/cancellations are a risk. Not saying it doesn't suck, it does, but grumble about it to friends rather than debate the validity of someone's mental health online.

I bought West End Macbeth tickets for next month purely to see David Tennant do his Shakespeare power in the Scottish Play. But I am fully aware he might be ill that night. I will grumble, but I will be okay.
