[NEWS] MBC’s PD Notebook Reveals Gaseyeon Earned Over ₩100 Million From False Claims About #KimSoohyun

It was revealed that Kim Seui, the head of Gaseyeon, earned more than 100 million won in YouTube donations by making the false claim that actor Kim Soohyun dated the late Kim Saeron when she was a minor.

MBC’s PD Notebook aired on July 14 and closely tracked Gaseyeon’s flow of funds. Over the past eight years, the channel has continued making various exposés targeting politics, the entertainment industry, and the business world, earning huge numbers of views, donations, and advertising revenue.

PD Notebook said, “Gaseyeon earned about 118 million won in YouTube donations alone while covering the allegations related to Kim Soohyun. A total of 146 advertisements were aired during those broadcasts, so the advertising revenue, excluding donations, is also estimated to have been significant.”

The program also added that Gaseyeon used these sensational exposé broadcasts as a stepping stone to surpass one million subscribers during that period.
