Paul said in 2 Thessalonians, “God will pay back those who persecute you. And He will provide rest for you who are being persecuted.” God sees the injustice. He sees you doing the right thing, taking the high road, overlooking the offense. Your time is coming. There is a time when God will turn things in your favor.
Emir of Kano HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi saying the National Assembly now “obeys, not probes” is a brutal indictment of what Nigeria’s legislature has become under Akpabio’s leadership.
The National Assembly is supposed to be the people’s watchdog, not the executive’s praise-singing department. Its job is to ask hard questions, investigate public spending, protect citizens and hold government accountable.
But today, Nigerians are watching a legislature that appears more interested in defending power than checking power.
That is dangerous for democracy.
When lawmakers stop probing and start obeying, corruption becomes comfortable. Waste becomes normal. Executive recklessness becomes easy. The people lose their voice because the institution meant to speak for them has chosen silence.
Sanusi said what many Nigerians already know: a democracy without a courageous parliament is just civilian rule wearing agbada.
Akpabio’s National Assembly must remember that Nigerians elected lawmakers to represent citizens, not to clap for the presidency.
Where I play ball, there’s this woman who shows up every Saturday morning with chilled zobo and tigernut drink. She shares it to everyone for free, no money, no stress. Naturally, everybody likes her.
It was only today I found out she’s actually the wife of the man who owns the pitch. That “free” drink? It’s strategy. It keeps all of us coming back every weekend, and once you’re there, you’re already spending. Each player pays 3kpa to play, bottled water is 5H, and before you know it, you’ve spent close to 5k.
Now she’s taken it a step further, she just launched a side business at the same pitch. She sells and rents out boots, sells jerseys, socks, bibs… everything you need to play. And she’s making serious money from it.
In simple terms… She gave us free drinks, built loyalty, then positioned herself to collect the money in every other way. Smart Igbo woman business move😂
