🇭🇺🔴A Budapest court has sentenced 25-year-old far-left German activist Maja T. to 8 years in prison for violent attacks orchestrated by the left-wing extremist Hammer Gang.

The gang arrived in Hungary and severely beat 9 individuals in February 2023 with batons, hammers and pepper spray.

They believed their targets were attending a far-right demonstration, but it turned out that a number of them had nothing to do with any political activity.

The court found that Maja T. and others followed their targeted victims in groups, wearing masks, and brutally beat their victims, resulting in significant injuries and fractures.

This verdict is the first instance and not yet final.
