I had a dream I was riding Image. Then today he was playing in the snow absolutely floating with the most beautiful trot. So wish I could get on him and canter around again
@knsequine@Ashley_ottb If she starts out fresh, put her on the lunge line or do some groundwork first to see how she’s feeling that day. With lots of praise it will also give you both some good vibes even before you start your ride and get her focusing on you
@knsequine@Ashley_ottb Not grabbing her face through nervousness or trying to get more contact is key because it just telegraphs your tenseness. And remember that you are a good rider and she’s a nice horse and you can and will have fun together
@knsequine@Ashley_ottb When you’re on your own focus on a big walk and let her go into a relaxed trot with lots of transitions. Don’t grab her face or try to get her to frame up - try for a relaxed low walk and into a trot and don’t panic try and enjoy it
@knsequine@Ashley_ottb This! Talk to her and laugh a little. If you get nervous focus on your breath and letting out a big relaxed sigh to reinforce to both of you how relaxed and not-nervous you are.
I started a new job Monday and today met another horse girl and we spent most of our meeting talking about horses - it turns out she knows my uncle and used to ride a bunch of his horses. Just one more reason I’m so happy with this move
@TheHussyHorse Ugh I’m sorry. I have a 9 pill limit on my migraine meds but fortunately there’s another almost identical version that my doctor also prescribed so I can get an additional 9 of those too
@HunterProbss For our carriage business, which covers on farm and off for about everything except charging for trail rides, it comes out to about 25% of what we make
