Doctors in the UK have to stop providing free Ultrasound / POCUS training in their spare time.
It’s a core skill and function of your job
You should be allocated paid time to do this teaching which develops essential skills & capacity in your future colleagues
@JeffreyChansky Hi! ☺️ MAPSE and S' are different aspects of LV function. MAPSE measures motion, while S' measures speed.
I am no expert in tissue Doppler. If you want the details, this website is for you: https://t.co/z9ejIAd1MJ

Here’s the best lesson my dad ever taught me.
Read about Austin FLint murmur in med school but always have to imagine aortic regurg jet vibrates/hitting mitral valve and causes middiastolic murmur at apex. Thanks to POCUS can see it now and understand better.
Not just once but in 2 patients back to back. #POCUS#MED#cardio
Whats happening to this pregnant lady in second trimester presenting with breathlessness and orthopnea. As usual PE was thought as primary diagnosis at triage.

The Grasp reflex is a primitive reflex found in infants of humans and most primates. When any object is placed in an infant's palm, the fingers flex reflexively around the object. The grip is strong but unpredictable; though it may be able to support the child's weight, they may also release their grip suddenly and without warning. The reverse motion can be induced by stroking the back or side of the hand.👶

In the viral tweet below, we have the perfect synopsis of increased imaging utilization by non physician providers.
No one wants the doctor to actually think if it means nothing is ordered.
I’m curious how her management changed with the atelectasis diagnosis.
Handheld ultrasounds r posh but can't replace cart based.Especially early in ur pocus journey. It takes time&practice 2 understand d anat&path.Worse when directly seen on small screens with poor image quality. It's great wen ur gud with actual #POCUS#echofirst
