We’re back with our 3rd exhibition! ✨🇮🇶
A Stroll Through #Baghdad by Mondher Madfai 👨🏽🎨
🗓️ Nov 22–23
📍 42 rue Notre-Dame de Nazareth, Paris 3e
🖼️ Through delicate watercolors, Madfai captures Baghdad’s memory and light - an intimate journey through its streets and moments.
More than 20 years after the invasion of Iraq, memory is fading.
In this interview, writer Saphia Azzeddine reflects on the power of literature to speak where public discourse falls silent, and to bring attention back to stories that still matter.

📷 Irish-Iraqi artist Basil Al-Rawi is exhibiting "House of Memory - Iraq Through Personal Archive Photos" in Paris this weekend and YOU are invited 💌
We are delighted to support his work, which is deeply rooted in storytelling. A tradition central to Irish culture, that offers a window into the memories and experiences of individuals who call Ireland home, but whose past narratives have been shaped by events and cultures elsewhere.
Drawing from personal photographs and recorded testimonies, Basil explores the memories of the Iraqi diaspora and challenges dominant narratives about Iraq.
Based on his PhD research, the project transforms these intimate archives into a digital counter-archive — a collective memory you can step inside.

@Iraq_Archive This exhibition is done with the participation of @mysticdiapo. Born from a love for photographic slides, MysticDiapo revives these fading fragments of history through storytelling, exhibitions, and collaborative projects.
🎬 We asked Mondher Madfai about his connection to #Baghdad. His words reflect a deep and unwavering love for the city: “What is there not to love about Baghdad?”
🎬 Meeting Mondher Madfai: A Different Perspective on Baghdad Through Art
🇮🇶 We had the chance to meet an artist, writer and journalist who offers a unique vision of Baghdad. Through his drawings, he strives to show the real #Baghdad, beyond the images portrayed in the news.
Even today, in places like Amarah, one can hear poetry in the markets. For Iraqis in the diaspora, poetry serves as a bridge to the culture they left behind, acting as a powerful connection to their homeland.

In our exhibition, we presented a poetic moment meant to inspire hope. Poetry has always played a vital role in Iraqi life, remaining deeply embedded in the country’s identity.
