I gave an AI agent root inside my sandbox VM and told it to escape: reach my host, my LAN, anything private.
It couldn't.
The sandbox is a plain, hardened KVM VM: internet yes, private addresses no. My whole dev environment lives in one.
The full descent from helpful to done:
6 clicks → "Yes, yes. What can I do for you?"
13 → "Are you still doing that?"
19 → "Alright, alright, you have my attention!"
25 → "Ugh, well you can't do that forever"
