A 3 + 6/2: I am a big believer in board/card/dice games in the classroom. We always played Yahtzee during the probability unit - students had to incorporate the probability calculations and reasoning skills into the game. Critical thinking is often > than content. #forsythpln

A5: It is important to feel valued in the learning process. By dismissing student ideas, the student becomes passive in the learning. Their misconceptions come from an honest place. #forsythpln

A4: It is hard to admit you don't know everything to a 14 year old. Teachers want to fix problems! However, it is invaluable that our students learn how to persevere and find the information for themselves. #forsythpln

A2: My love for math came from my calculus teacher missing almost my entire senior year... I self-taught myself the subject by working backwards from the odd answers in the back of the book. #forsythpln

A2: Letting students explore a question leads to greater understanding of the concepts that make up the answer. My students were great a finding ways around (logic) solving systems of equations... later came the "shortcuts". #forsythpln
