PASSAIC FIRE UPDATE: Fire suppression operations are expected to continue throughout today. NJDEP & USEPA are on scene actively monitoring air quality. Sections of Rt 21, Rt 46, & several side roads in the area are expected to remain closed at times during the day.

Be advised shifting winds may cause smoke from the working fire at a chemical factory in Passaic to pass over areas of the borough. Residents are encouraged to stay inside until the fire is under control. Thank you for your cooperation.
