As a young woman who defied the odds to emerge as the Woman Member of Parliament for Alebtong District, Hon. Lakisa's journey is a powerful testament to resilience, determination, and the growing leadership potential of Uganda's youth.

Her appointment is not only a win for young people but also a strong affirmation of women's leadership in public service. Many young Ugandans see in her a reflection of their aspirations and a reminder that age should never be a barrier to leadership.

As she assumes this important office, young people across the country look forward to her championing meaningful youth participation in decision-making, expanding employment and entrepreneurship opportunities, strengthening skills development, protecting children's rights, and ensuring that youth voices are at the center of Uganda's development agenda.

We ended the day with a cake cutting session and this was a symbol of growth, impact and consistency in showing up for communities over the years.
Eight years of partnerships, kindness and collective action that continue to inspire change across Uganda.
