Congratulations Awuramma. ๐ฅ๐ฅ
You have a heart for nurturing young people. May your tenure take GHAFES to the next level of discipling students at the tertiary level. ๐๐พ๐๐พ
The Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students - GHAFES of the IFES ยท International Fellowship of Evangelical Students recently announced Mrs. Amma Eleblu (nรฉe Perbi) as their new board chair. #Congratulations to my sister in whom I'm well-pleased!
This is a fascinating development for our family as our GHAFES roots run deep. Both dad and mum served as University Christian Fellowship (UCF) presidents, for the entire University of Ghana, Legon's expression of GHAFES on campus and for the all-female Volta Hall respectively, in their heydays. During her time at the University of Ghana, Amma was part of the Central Executive Committee as President of the University Christian Fellowship, Volta Hall too! She also served as a Bible Study Leader and Chair of the Vetting Committee for new executives, among other leadership roles. I got to serve as President of the Christian Medical Fellowship, Korle-Bu (CMF), the University of Ghana Medical School's branch of GHAFES.
Here's where the plot thickens. When we were very young, dad (Reindorf Baah Perbi) was the national chairman of the GHAFES board (1982-1988). He was 32 when he began his tenure. Talk of #youthpower. During those years, we would be bundled away to some far off location so there could be silence in the house for board meetings. The tradeoff was that we would be beneficiaries of the fresh, hot pastries that came with it. Now, Amma's not-that-young children get to enjoy these snacks. The tradition goes on.
As a family of four siblings--two boys and two girls--Amma comes directly after me. Boy (Yaw), girl (Amma), girl (Adwoa), boy (Nketia). Amma is a devoted Christian, wife of my best friend (Franklin Eleblu), and mother of three. She worships at the Legon Interdenominational Church - LIC, where our family has fellowshiped since the early 1990s. There she leads the Child Discipleship Team within the Missions and Discipleship Ministry (MDM). She is also a member of the Pastoral Care and Counselling Ministry (PCCM) and actively participates in Couples Fellowship and Area Fellowship activities. Passionate about Christians making a meaningful impact in national life, Amma serves as Vice Chair of Advocates For Christ Ghana (A4CG).
Professionally, Amma works with PwC as Africa Business Resilience Senior Manager, where she coordinates the Business Continuity Programme across nine PwC countries in West and East Africa and oversees ISO 22301 recertification processes for PwC Africa. She is also the Chief Executive Officer of 97 BAKES, a bakery based in Accra, where she leads the business in delivering quality baked products and catering services to individuals and organisations. Prior to her current role at PwC, Amma worked with PwC Ghana for over ten years in professional services, auditing and providing assurance services to private and public sector organisations across Ghana, Nigeria, and Liberia.
Amma is an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute (AMBCI), a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), UK, and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants (ICA) Ghana. She holds an MBA from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration (Accounting Option) from the University of Ghana, Legon. She is an #Akora, an old student of Achimota School where she was Girls Senior Prefect.
May Almighty God greatly bless Amma's tenure and keep the good tradition of #Evangelical #Christian #leadership, from student days to professional ways, going on to the next generation also. All for His glory.

Please join us for our 99th Anniversary Founders Day Weekend celebration. This is a great to reconnect, network, build new bridges as we converge on the Grey city.
@ukusefya Well spoken. Thank you. This incident draws attention to how little we know about each other's cultures on the continent. Until this incident, I had no idea Zambia had a national dress. We must celebrate the uniqueness of cultures across the continent.
Weโve successfully launched the Didi Jollof scheme and intend to expand it with time. This is our way of giving back to the University of Ghana community. โค๏ธ๐ซถ๐ฝ
