He said she had always been a happy and contented wife
She drove the latest vehicles, and they lived in a glass house
Her children were born in the countries where citizenship could be bought with money
Spending the summer abroad was the norm for his family, including shopping sprees
The school his children were attending was the best in the country where he was dwelling
They were enjoying the lifestyle of the one per cent
His wife was always full of prayers and gratitude to him for being a wonderful provider.
He bought her the latest cars for her birthday, credited her bank account with funds from time to time and even sponsored her abroad on several occasions for training that had to do with her career and personal grooming

So what changed?

He said they were having a discussion one morning, and he unwittingly showed her his account balance.

Obviously, he was quite rich, and his wife suddenly felt all the wonderful things he had been doing for her and the family were being done out of pocket change, while he kept the bulk of his money to himself.

How can my husband be worth this much in dollars, and he is giving us crumbs to live on and be grateful for?

Immediately after he revealed his financial worth to her, she announced that she had selected some private schools for her children in the USA to attend, and she insisted they must attend the schools or she would leave the marriage.

Then she began to feed her children with bile about their father, telling them how much he is worth and how everything he had been doing for them was not even costing him a fraction of a percentage of his wealth

Was he planning to spend the money in heaven? He is already in his fifties, and he is not opening the vaults and allowing her and the children to live a lifestyle worthy of his true worth as their father.

They were living the millionaire's lifestyle when they ought to be living the billionaire's lifestyle.

Delilah didn't kill Samson until he divulged his secret to her, and she didn't rest until she discovered his secret.
Delilah didn't guess that Samson had a secret; she didn't know that he had a secret by divination. Samson's power may be abnormal, but it did not have to have a secret behind it.
He could have simply been a freak of nature.
It was Samson who demystified himself by hinting that he had a secret to share
It was Samson who felt that being vulnerable to a woman as a man is a gesture of true love
No woman will relent from knowing the secret to the mystery of her man; no man should ever give up the secret of his mystery.
Keep her guessing, keep her calculating, keep her wondering

You have a duty to provide the best life you can afford for your family; you don't have a duty to divulge to your wife and children how much you earn, your source of income, how much you have saved in the bank or how much you have invested.

She should know that she is safe and secure financially within the context of the marriage, and that should be enough.

The moment she starts crunching your numbers for you, whatever you have been doing in the past becomes dust. Her budget increases to fit the number she is crunching. If you say, "I am not increasing your budget, you become the stingy man, and if you increase her budget, "You become the tyrant whom she had to fight with in order to get what she deserved"

Save yourself the trouble and provide for your family to the best of your ability, but do so without diminishing yourself and your source as a man.

Another Pastor's wife left him.
He was a rich man who made money early and married her out of the abundance of his wealth
After the marriage, she convinced him to add her email address to his bank accounts so that whenever he received cash inflow, she was able to see what was coming in at that time

As soon as money came in, she would plan a trip to the US or the UK or Europe for her annual shopping. She shopped twice a year "abroad".

He bought and registered the cars in her name and also bought houses in her name. He was love-smitten, and he was determined to show her how committed and transparent he was willing to be in the name of love.

A lean season came for him, and inflows stopped coming. He began to sell some of his properties to feed and meet his family obligations.
She had placed the children in certain schools where the school fees were on the very high side
They were members of clubs where annual subscription fees were quite heavy
She saw that the inflow was not as before, but she was unwilling to cut down on the trips and the lifestyle

She encouraged him to sell his properties to maintain a lifestyle that was not only extravagant but pretentious.
This went on for three years.
Suddenly, he was broke and out of resources to sell
She left with her children

After her departure, he suddenly came into some money, and she told him she was still open to reconciliation, but she refused to compromise on her twice-a-year foreign trips and shopping allowance
She also refused to compromise on his duty to provide her with a lavish lifestyle
A lifestyle she was not providing for herself but that she believed she must be given by any man who calls himself her husband.

A man is not rich unless he is living on only a fraction of his income.
If you are earning one thousand dollars a month and spending two thousand dollars a month, you may look good and drive a good car and eat well at the moment, but you are a very poor man.

A rich man earns the equivalent of one thousand dollars a month and spends less than one hundred dollars a month to meet all his needs and those of his family.
The rest of the money is invested and must stay invested as new income flows in, and the lifestyle remains frugal while the investment takes the bulk of his income.

If he kept this up for ten years and remained consistent with this lifestyle, he would have enough to live on two hundred dollars a month, and that is a hundred per cent increase in lifestyle value based on his income and investments.

It is better to have money invested and live frugally than to live lavishly while running on fumes.

The moment a man tells his wife he is broke, he loses all respect, and her thinking moves from security to survival.
While in survival mode, the thinking is always "every man for himself".
The man is held accountable for going broke and being unable to keep his family together
The woman becomes the victim of the man's inability to manage his resources and provide for his household.
It is the man's responsibility to ensure that he keeps his family's finances in the blue at all times
If a lavish lifestyle will destroy the family's finances, it is his duty to tell his wife off if she has a taste that he is unable to satisfy.

No man should have to continuously buy the respect and love of his woman with gifts, trips, and thrills.
If after you have married her, it is still for sale, then you have married someone else's wife.

It is wiser to have bread to eat for a hundred days than chocolate to eat for one day.

When a man does not understand how to hold the line of mystery, he will lose both the tangible and intangible blessings of his marriage.

There are families and marriages for which what has been written above is not fit.
You know your family and how it operates
If you are a low-income household where both the husband and the wife are working hard to pay the bills, your currency of trust and respect as a man is transparency and forthrightness
Keeping a penny for yourself when your wife is remitting all is unfair.

If you are a rich man and she is a trophy wife, know this and know peace: your relationship is transactional, and it will last for as long as you remain liquid and able to provide.
If you empower her to finish all your resources in one day, she will be gone the next day
So it will be very wise of you to keep your resources flowing in and limit your expenditure in such a manner that she will still be around and available when you die and hand over the rest to her and the children.

ON ATIKU'S FRAUDULENT CAMPAIGN TO RETURN PETROL SUBSIDIES:

FYI, Buhari's government didn't pay petrol subsidies to any fuel importer throughout his 8yrs government. The only subsidy he paid from 2015 into 2016 were the verified amounts owed to importers from GEJ's government.

The kind of subsidies in his government is akin to what the crooked and desperate Atiku is proposing today with the difference that the refineries were abroad and NNPC had to be receiving and solely importing the products from the refineries they sent the crude to in swap arrangements. This was christened DSDP and under recovery.

Still, the conversation around subsidies in terms of fraud and most importantly how it held up funds meant for the federation account never went away. It got to an extent that NNPC was no longer remitting any money to the account as all were used up as subsidies on petrol.

The real issue with subsidy in Buhari's government was less of subsidy fraud and more of unsustainability due to the fact that almost all revenues due from NNPC to the federation account were being expended on petrol subsidies.

There is no style of petroleum subsidy that will not be abused in Nigeria and which will not lead us into further unsustainable debts and another distortion in the oil and gas industry that's gradually coming back to full production as the IOCs have regained their lost confidence and have started investing massively again like they were doing several years ago. You know this, we all know this.

Lastly, the maxim that Nigeria is a rich country because of a 1.6m barrels of daily crude oil is grossly offensive as the opposite is absolutely the case due to our bloated population. Rich oil countries have far more barrels of daily oil production with very little population. You cannot be possibly calling yourself an oil rich country with 1.6mbbls/day and a 250m population. If an ignorant and uneducated Atiku can say that, you with your education should be able to know there's something called per capita oil production. Nigeria's total yearly oil and tax revenues is not even up to a third of South Africa's yearly revenues yet we're 4x the population of South Africa.

Atiku Abubakar is just a desperate crook and Nigerians cannot afford to gamble with him at this point of our lives.

It'll amount to one step forward and 100 steps backward.

I have always been against the empowerment of militia groups such as this one without a binding legal framework which constitutes their SOP. It may appear like a solution to the problem of terrorists and killer herdsmen in the early days, but as it is with every human social group, there’ll be a deviation in core ideology at some point, and there will be breakaway factions. More often than not, the breakaway factions will become radical, devastating, and more ruthless.

As you can hear in this video, there is no rule book, no rigorous selection process with serious background checks. No constituted authority they answer to, no legislative oversight to keep them in check. The system of hierarchy is not decentralized; one person is the leader across several states.

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) must do more to fight fake drugs, fake drinks and fake beverages in Nigeria.

A lot of people are getting sick (kidney disease, liver failure, cancer, etc) and killed by these fake consumables. It has become too much. NAFDAC and SON must do more or be decentralised.

Employing your Boss!

This has been my experience with every driver I have ever employed.
Somehow, before they got the car keys, they were humble and contrite, making many promises about how they would conduct themselves and make sure my life is easier because they are now behind the wheel of one of my vehicles
The story changes after they get the car keys.
They begin to exercise their discretion with my car.
The last one I sacked went to pick up the car allotted to him to drive on a weekend while I was out of the country.
He picked it up without any instruction or permission from me
He merely calculated that since I was out of the country and the car was with the mechanic, he could pick it up and do whatever he liked with it without my knowledge

And it wasn't his first time.
He had pulled the same stunt once or twice, and I had cautioned him.
I had trackers installed in all my cars and I could tell where they were at any time of the day
He didn't get the logic of the tracker till tomorrow
He always felt somebody somewhere was snitching on him when I call him to ask him what my car was doing at such and such a place while he was supposed to be picking the children up from school or running an errand for me
His excuses would range from, I brought the car to my house to wash it or I had to dash somewhere quickly and so on
Eventually, he couldn't account for where he took the car that Saturday morning, and he got the sack.

The driver before him boldly asked me to give him the car so that whenever it was idle, he would be using it for Uber to augment the salary I was paying him.

Imagine that.

I pay my drivers 100,000 Naira a month. This particular one works with a company within our estate on a full-time basis and earns a salary from the job.
His job description was to pick up my children in the morning, take them to school within the estate and pick them up from school in the afternoon and drop them at home.
He does this only on school days.
After dropping the children off in the morning, he goes to work, and by 2 pm in the afternoon, during his break time, he goes to pick up the children and drop them at home.
His office was less than two minutes walk away from the house.

It was a perfect side hustle for him, but he was not satisfied with the arrangement. He said he used to drive LAGRIDE before the car he was driving became faulty, and he would like me to give him the car so that he could use it for UBER whenever he was not picking up or dropping off the children from school.

When he called me with the idea, I asked him if he was mentally okay. He replied by asking me if, as a pastor, I should not be more inclined to give him the car, especially after he had fasted and prayed that God would touch my heart.

I eventually got a solution to my driver dilemma, which I had been dealing with since 2020.
I got a mechanic who faithfully began to do my driving jobs on a pay-as-you-drive basis.
He has a workshop and is very good at his craft. He is not a driver per se, but he gets the job done.

When I need more than one driver in a day, he recruits other mechanics, and they get the job done. Since I discovered him, I have been free of the driver dilemma.

My experience with my drivers reminds me of the kind of state governors Nigerians keep voting for to manage their states.
I was in the UAE recently, and I was shocked to discover that the children of some governors and other politicians were attending schools where they pay as much as 120,000 dollars per session to study.

The amount of money being pumped into the states at the moment is so vast that it is shocking that none of the governors has come up with good ideas that would alleviate the financial stress of the masses in any way.

What about the house rent crisis and healthcare issues?

Most states offer free education and pay salaries. Beyond this, they embark on infrastructure projects that guarantee they will embezzle a lot of money while leaving their citizens to gripe about the cost of food and transportation under the subsidy removal mantra

During the recently concluded election in Osun State, a lady commented that she would vote for the governor because he paid the salary arrears owed to her mother since the days of Aregbesola. She didn't consider that the value of the Naira had depreciated in multiple fold since then and that the allocation received by the state had quadrupled since then.

Nobody is putting pressure on the governors. It is as if Nigerians are tone deaf and blind to the information being put out daily regarding how fat the state pockets are today.

If you reside in any state and there is no public transportation system that guarantees that you don't spend all your salary on daily transportation to work, please vote out the governor.

The governors who will be contesting in the coming election must all rejig their manifestos and come up with plans to ease the suffering of the people in a visible and tangible manner.

If he is not providing basic social amenities, he should not be your governor.

To whom much is given, much is expected. It is no use having a governor who would rule for eight years only to be hounded by the EFCC for four years after his tenure.

It is better to have a performing governor who would make daily life easy for the citizens under his purview with judicious use of the resources allocated to him and those generated internally by his or her government.

As I travel the length and breadth of Nigeria, I cannot say that I am impressed by any of the governors since 2023.
One would think that with the subsidy removal and the hardship the people had to endure, the governors would swing into action with the funds they now have access to and come up with programmes that would alleviate the suffering of the people.

I didn't see anything of such in any state. The governors pretended they were not getting more money until the federal government started screaming that people should hold them accountable.

The members of the federal House of Representatives and Senators are also getting more money for their constitutional projects, and they are doing nothing with it.
The local government chairmen too are benefiting directly from the federal allocation, but the impact of these funds is not being felt by the people.

It seems we employed drivers who are much more powerful than the people and are determined to drive us wherever they want, regardless of what we want them to do

The right thing to do is to sack them, so let us go on and do this during the coming election.

OPERATION HADIN KAI ELIMINATE 38 TERRORISTS IN DEVASTATING PRECISION AIRSTRIKES ACROSS BORNO

Air platforms of Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK) have eliminated approximately 38 suspected terrorists in a series of coordinated precision air strikes conducted across Borno State between the night of August 21 and the early hours of August 22, following intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions that detected terrorist movements and concentrations in separate locations.

In the first operation, an armed reconnaissance platform operating over Aduwa at about 10:23 p.m. on August 21 received intelligence on the presence of terrorist fighters and vehicles in the area. The aircraft tracked the terrorists to a settlement where about eight fighters had gathered, while other groups were observed at different positions. Following the required operational procedures and authorisation, a precision strike was conducted against the larger concentration, with Battle Damage Assessment indicating that approximately 16 terrorists were eliminated inside and around makeshift structures.

At about midnight, the aircraft continued surveillance and detected another group of approximately 10 terrorists who had fled the initial strike and regrouped near a tree. A second precision strike was conducted, with subsequent assessment indicating that all 10 were neutralised. The two strikes in the Aduwa area therefore accounted for approximately 26 terrorists.

In a separate operation around Buratai, another precision strike platform tracked about 12 suspected terrorists who had gathered at a hut. After maintaining surveillance and receiving the necessary authorisation to engage, the aircraft struck the target at about 12:31 a.m. on August 22, achieving a direct hit. The engagement was assessed to have neutralised all 12 terrorists at the location, bringing the total number eliminated in the coordinated operations to approximately 38.

The latest strikes underscore the increasing pressure being brought to bear on terrorist networks operating in the North-East, particularly their fighting formations, logistics, command structures and freedom of movement. Military sources said the overall security situation remains calm but unpredictable, while the morale and fighting efficiency of troops remain satisfactory.

The operations are expected to further disrupt terrorist command-and-control structures and make it increasingly difficult for insurgents to mass fighters without being detected. With Operation HADIN KAI sustaining its intelligence-driven campaign, terrorist groups are increasingly being forced to abandon large gatherings and resort to smaller, concealed movements.

However, the latest precision strikes demonstrate that concealment may no longer provide terrorists with the sanctuary they once enjoyed, as the military continues to combine persistent surveillance with precision air power to hunt down hostile concentrations across the theatre.

The Neighbour's pet rabbit died.
They buried it in the woods.
Our dog went into the woods and dug up the dead rabbit.
It brought it home.
I was in the kitchen when it came in, and I assumed it had killed the rabbit
I was terrified for our dog.
My first thought was how the neighbour would call animal control and report that our dog had killed their rabbit
I decided to save our dog from the trouble it had caused unknowingly
I washed up the rabbit, blow-dried it and combed its hair until it looked fluffy again
Then I sneaked into the neighbour's compound and sneaked the rabbit back into the cage
Hoping the neighbour would think their rabbit died of natural causes

That night my parents came into the house all worried.
They said something terrible had happened in the neighbourhood, and they suspected that a mad person was on the loose
The neighbour had called the police and reported the incident
I asked what the issue was.

They said the neighbour's rabbit died and was buried in the woods, but a mad person, possibly a stalker or a voyeur, must have gone to the woods to dig it up, wash it and return it to its cage

My parents said the neighbours were spooked and the entire neighbourhood was on red alert
Nobody should go out alone, and if we see any stranger anywhere, we must yell for help.

I was ten years old, and I decided to shut my mouth.

The truth is sometimes stranger than fiction; I never forgot from that day how absurd sometimes the truth must sound when told as it really is.
