Now the votes collected OUTSIDE the allocation pot for semi 2. ๐จ๐ญ rising to 8th (!) in tele, still losing to ๐จ๐พ with 2 pts. ๐จ๐พ got helped a lot by their pots compared to ๐จ๐ญ. The "nordics" and "balkan" pots voted heavily, while "caucasian" did not seem to care #Eurovision
How many points did each country get OUTSIDE of their allocated voting pot? No big changes, except ๐ต๐น Q in televote instead of ๐ฒ๐ช. ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ท๐ธ๐ฎ๐ฑ most helped by pot in absolute points, while ๐ฒ๐ช๐ช๐ช๐ท๐ธ had biggest 3 shares compared to their actual results from their pots. #Eurovision
Looking back people were asking what went wrong with Montenegro during the ROTW recap, but then when the juries think the same thing the juries robbed her?
@MikeK_ESC It feels like the same thing happens as in The Netherlands, many great artists and songs are submitted each year and then Avrotros picks to most safe jury song (except Joost).
Now I wonder what songs get submitted to RTBF and VRT each year and why their main priority is picking the most paint by numbers dark English pop song. I just feel like we have missed out on probably a lot of great songs throughout the years.
It's interesting that rtbf chose DOTI considering Essyla said she liked singing ballads more AND is not a dancer. We also would've finally had a song in one of our native languages. Maybe the first part of the song was really mid idk, but you could stage that ending really well.
Essyla released a snippet of the demo of the second song which was not chosen to represent Belgium at #Eurovision called 'Regardez-moi". Do you think RTBF made the right call or not between both songs?
The final under the old voting system would been one with highs (literally Bulgaria demolishing the rest) and lows (4 countries with 0 points, only UK not getting even close to 1 point).
So now that Balkan countries are getting cheered on to return while they actively know a country is participating, then any boycotting countries returning will be met with the same excitement too right?
