Hey #Trek fam! I'm gonna finally move on from Xitter. If you're interested in #StarTrek#VFX stuff, and other random musings, hit me up on Threads! I'll be posting more behind the scenes VFX stuff, and the occasional Trek related render!

@thebigguy86@VP@KamalaHarris@GovTimWalz A large majority of the country has repeatedly said they don't want him, but our archaic pro-slave owning system keeps giving him a chance!
Here are some test renders of the Syraprise and some close ups of the open panels. #StarTrek#StarTrekPicard#USSEnterpriseD#VFX

@RobotSquad1 Footage is filmed first, then that's 3d tracked to duplicate the camera, and with that, we add the assets to make the shot. Sometimes we'll do a take over camera, like this one, which extends the distance the live action camera travels.
Turntable! This is pretty much how we reviewed assets. And it being in space, we had a space background with some key and fill lights. #StarTrek#StarTrekPicard#VFX
@TrekDocFan I think it would be boring unless it was at a frontier station. Earth based stuff is set in a utopia, at the heart of the Federation and would lack interpersonal conflict to the level that DS9 did so well. That's why that show worked.
@vincent1701 @BuckAdmiral Tell me you've never built a model (or a half dozen models)/worked in VGFX without saying you've never built a model/worked in VFX.
@BuckAdmiral is a god amongst model builders, but even he'd say there's no way we would have saved time if we had him build all the models here.
@thegeeksreviews It took probably 3-6 people to model and texture everything. 2 people to animate it. 1 person to track the film plate. 2 people to light it. 1 person to composite it. And it probably took a combined week or two to finish.
@JefferyK_EntH I always thought so. I mean, it's a station, its got constant power... No reason they can't have shields at the doors. I actually tossed out the idea (internally) of having the ships entering and exiting have a shield ripple occur at the entry way.
The Starbase was one heck of an asset. The talented artists at GhostVFX did a fantastic build. It was a beast of a render though! The shuttle asset was renamed a few times. Started off as the Saavik, and we had an Uhura, Gorkon, and this was the Ro. #StarTrek#StarTrekPicard#VFX
@itstylerchick 100% agreed. And the work that GhostVFX did was pretty awesome. They did the nebula battle and the final battle at earth between the borgified fleet and Earth.
