All Ycee did was say the bitter truth about a topic a lot of people have been walking on eggshells around for years.
The aggressive decline in the academic sector isn't talked about enough, not in a country where the Jamb cut off mark is now 150.
Just 2010 here, anything below 200 will likely require you to retake the exam.
Today, all the average mind cares about is "He's making his money, education na scam" then we wonder why people make poor decisions everyday that could affect the lives of others.
@Bilkis29 Please ensure that they’re not home alone for a long time after this ordeal. Some of these people can be evil, they might know the kids are alone, let’s reinforce and come back. God forbid but also be alert and proactive. Don’t take this lightly. May God protect your children.
Imagine fighting an institution for 19 years as a LAYMAN, forcing them to hand you a 2:1 certificate in open court at the Supreme Court, and winning ₦20,000,000. Though if adjusted for inflation its too small.
He didn't just study Mechanical Engineering; by the end of it, he basically earned a Law degree too. Absolute legend.
@OparaIfeanyiPa2@kenkenlewu Igwe!!! Are you God? Only God’s counsel for their lives will be established. God can lift people in a day, choose faith and optimism? To say it will an abysmal failure is to assume a position that’s not yours. God remains author and finisher.
I say this to my kids all the time. Do it for the plot. Do it for the story. Tell yourself if it all goes wrong it will just be a funny story. Ironically job interviews, dates, and public speaking go better anyway if you're just happy to be there and not overthinking it!!
Nigerian Twitter is a true representation of the state of the country. Our education is finished and our Government needs to focus on this sector with alacrity and resources!
@BiGBENNGTR@Grace72298470@tomisin_ms My dear, leave all these issues and if you can, really go back to school and face your studies because why is your tweet so incoherent and hard to read? What will you pass down to your kids? Education is more than grammar, it’s your mindset, it’s your outlook on life…
You are looking for social capital in the wrong places. You are chasing elites who do not want you. You are saving money to register in clubs where you do not belong. You are hoping to meet rich people who will never see you as their equal. You are looking for social capital in places where the door is locked from the inside.
But social capital is right in front of you. Invest in your friends.
Your friends can be the next big thing. The man selling phones beside you might own a chain of stores in five years. The woman you went to university with might become a director. The friend who is struggling today might be the one who saves your business tomorrow.
Social capital is not just about knowing rich people. It is about building genuine relationships with people who are also growing. It is about mutual elevation, not desperate proximity.
Stop neglecting your circle. Stop treating your friends as placeholders until something better comes along. Water your own garden. Build with people who are also building. Your network is your net worth, not because of who is rich today, but because of who is willing to grow with you.
