We Dream the City playing as part of @VividSydney features an incredible archive of Sydney street scenes we'd never seen before, thanks to the Transport for NSW Historical Collections and Digitisation Project. @TransportforNSW
Listen to the voices of Sydney identities past and present as they share their dreams of the city.
"This is the city of Sydney" says Shirley Abicair in 1960, on a visit home to Australia. "Crowded, sprawling, urgent, confused".
We Dream the City premiered along the Goods Line for Vivid this weekend. The projection artwork creates a dreamscape of urban memory, drawing from intensive archival research into the recorded archaeologies of the city.
Showing nightly from 6pm until June 18.
I’ve loved these past few months getting to know the brilliant storytellers and artists working in & around #parramatta. Next Tues 7 October the Storybox digital cube created by @esem_projects touches town in Parramatta Square, feat. works by many! Image features Cindy Chen 🙏
We’re proud of our work with the Bathurst community to create a successful, community focused annual illuminations event - the #bathurstwinterfestival https://t.co/5VtKHe7Wb5
Our ‘Unguarded Moments’ series creates intimate moments of encounter with people in the past, out on the streets, using #digitalarchives. This coming week we’ll be introducing new moments in partnership w/ @ABCaustralia for @storybox_places (on Insta). See https://t.co/nI5dcwjNEo
Sad to hear #Botanica Festival is cancelled. And with it my Superorganism sound & light installation, to be experienced under the canopy of a huge Tipuana Tree. 1/2
We’re shining a light on creative people and passions for our #labouroflove project launching tonight in Marrickville. Artist parties, projections, tours and more happening night and day. Support from @IWCouncil#edgeinnerwest#placemaking#notnetflix

Let’s face it, who knows what’s really real. If no one saw, did it really happen? If no one saved it, right clicked, archived, remembered, does it really matter? #pastforward#esemprojectsarchives#archivesofarchives… https://t.co/kuC0krxUwI
Events like the Bathurst Winter Festival are becoming great platforms for #placemaking and retail activation in regional areas. For this year’s Festival we worked with a talented team to transform the Courthouse into an interplanetary voyager. Things got busy! @BathurstCouncil
Do we always need to know what’s inside, or are somethings better left hidden, closed up? These are archive boxes on display in the Archives Nationales Museum in Paris, an empty room in the middle of the bustling city. They say: “everybody shhhh”. #timescapes#weareallhistory
Today I’m thinking of the girls at Liverpool Girls High School, who I worked with last year to record many stories of arrival to Australia as a place of peace. Peace to you all this week as we celebrate Harmony Day across NSW. 🙏 @esem_projects
