I’ve overdrafted my account several times for this film. I’ve paid people out of pocket using rent money when investors drug their feet for this film. I missed family events, milestones, and celebrations for this film. I maxed out cards, took out loans, and absolutely destroyed my credit for this film 💀 and in a few days, I’m about to sell the very laptop I used to make it just to make sure I can get to Tribeca with my team.

I don’t know if this film will do everything I hope it will. Nothing is a guarantee in this business. One thing I can say for sure though is I left nothing on the floor. I gave it my all. I shot for the stars and I’m extremely proud of where I landed. And after nearly a DECADE of trying to tell this story, I finally did it.

With the voice cast I wanted, with a budget I dreamed of, and with animation quality that matched the vision I had when I initially conceptualized it back in 2015.

Filmmaking is hard (and it’s 40x harder when you’re indie and BLACK 💀) but more than anything, I’m simply proud of the fact this film exists. So if NOTHING else—I can say I made the 6 year old in me who watched Static Shock and Justice League and said “I wanna have my own cartoon” proud.

And that’s more than enough for me ❤️
