What if the next President doesn’t like the rules that you are currently working hard to comply with? Who cares if those were good rules or bad rules?
Stop cheering/mourning the end of DEI/DEIA and consider the bigger picture. This is bad for everyone.
Everyone is busy talking about DEI and you’re all missing the big picture. I don’t care whether you think DEI/DEIA programs were important or problematic or any other adjective.
Think about how it would feel if you were suddenly being punished for having worn steel-toed boots, or working with a vendor you were required to use, or filing quarterly reports using a specific template.
@JeremySencer @pvdschools@RIDeptEd@AInfanteGreen@ZackBScott @nfigueroajr @PTU958 What are the PD days used for? I'm all in favor of time for professional development in theory, just overwhelmed by the number of distance learning days in a short period of time.
Can we talk about the PD day scheduled for this Wednesday? We just had two distance learning days last week, how about postponing this PD to a future date? Signed, all working parents barely holding it together @pvdschools@RIDeptEd@AInfanteGreen@ZackBScott @nfigueroajr @PTU958
I take issue with this for several reasons.
1. Yesterday would have been a good day for snow removal. Don't pretend y'all worked all day and just didn't quite finish.
Tomorrow, Monday, January 31, 2022, will be a distance learning day for Providence Public Schools to allow for ongoing snow removal following the blizzard. All afterschool activities are canceled.
3. The term "Distance learning" should not be used for anything less than synchronous remote school. The proper name for today is Extra Homework day. Or Technology Sucks Day.
