@adrianchm I will say: arrogance. I know numerous examples of discussions between developers where, someone could say "this works 3x worse than previous version" and they would respond with "no, it is you who are wrong". Pointing wrongs to a developer, often end up with blocking/banning.
@ID_AA_Carmack I think, it is sad that in 30+ years of intrn, we're still not in a point where anyone can setup a web page as easily as setting up mail account, and we still cannot connect with others without fully committing to a single entity that is deciding on how we consume ideas/knowledge
@ThePrimeagen Never thought about this before, but allman seems to be accidental standard in gamedev. Of all game engines from multiple companies I worked on, all are using allman. I think it comes from windows app programming where most ppl started.
@SebAaltonen Visual Scripts offer interesting feature: being able to see execution flow in full 2D space (while text is more top-down). And watch it in real-time. Several screens of code can be condensed into single 2D screen if you collapse loops and expressions into single block.
@Levighast PTR (in any game) is just a symptom of a low faith in developer and developer's inability to deliver something good. Many single player games release successful DLCs without PTRs/Alphas. Imagine if Blizzard could simply release patch that is good. No more PTRs or data mining.
@BellularGaming Randomization of activities. No amount of reward will be satisfying if every day it's always "pull exact same 5 levers". Look at roguelikes or strategy games for ideas. Thorgast had potential, but needed more work just like any good game. Bring back old content with new twists.
@Donzanoid For me, one of the coolest thing was realization that it's not just all electronics, but behind instruments sit actual humans ;) https://t.co/w5qLNWQgnW
@MiastoJestNasze Gęste i długie włosy są zadbane. Nie łysa pała.
Notabene, z czasów dzieciństwa pamiętam, że większość warszawskich trawników była żółta od mniszka lekarskiego. Dzisiaj ciężko go odnaleźć. Jestem pewien, że kwiaty albo inne rośliny powstrzymywały by zapędy "trawofobów".
@TimSweeneyEpic This is what I was thinking for some time. As we move into more abstract languages we are less engineers, and more architects. It comes at a cost: a) software quality/speed/size suffers b) you loose magic of programming. When was the last time you wrote mp3 decoder?
@BartWronsk@jyzg Space between two buildings where I live, was occupied by parked cars. I thought "It's ok. Nowadays kids don't go outside anyway". One day someone kicked out cars, put in flowers, grass, swings, benches, and now "magically" whole backyard is filled with playing kids and people.
@Levighast Just wait for "Season 2", when they will say "we looked at the feedback", "we hear your concerns", etc. Meanwhile they're getting insane press coverage, and in season 2 they will another batch of press coverage as "good guys/con-artists that are actually not that bad".
@Varileztra @Levighast Oh, yeah, that too, but that was always funny to me. Everbloom was most toxic (figuratively and literally) dungeon in WoD. That's why I would like to see be the added. Just to see people reaction.
@BellularGaming@WarcraftDevs In Path of Exile getting a daily quest increases counter. So you can do all your "dailies" in one day (eg. Sunday) until counter depletes. Similarly the maw has eye of jailer where you need to "cool off". WQ or twice-weekly quests, still puts pressure on frequent login.
