Important majority for an important law: I welcome @EU_Parliament’s vote on the #EUChipsAct.
We want to make Europe a leader in the global semiconductor sector, building on Europe‘s strengths.
And the #EUChipsAct is a game-changer.
Today‘s vote is good for businesses in Europe.
We have a Chips Act 🥳
We need #chips to power #digital & #green transitions or #healthcare systems. Lots of promise & a lot of day-to-day convenience.
Today’s #Trilogue agreement boosts 🇪🇺 capacity to produce our own chips. And to be a partner in the global chips #supply#chain
Heartfelt hello - inside & outside - from State Minister Carsten Schneider’s at state of the art Intel production site Leixlip. We look forward to learning from Intel Ireland’s experience in business, ecological & social engagement for the benefit of 🇩🇪🇮🇪links.
@MonikaLischke Perhaps Monica, the parallels I see between the proposal in 1950 to create an European Coal and Steel Community (that begat the EEC under the treaty of Rome) and the EU ambition to rebuild its semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem. Exciting times!
Yesterday we hosted some very special visitors at our Leixlip campus.
A delegation from Magdeburg in Germany - where we will locate our next European fab - had the chance to see our manufacturing expansion in Ireland - Fab 34. 🇮🇪 🇩🇪

I believe Ireland has earned its reputation as a worldwide centre for excellence and this ‘Silicon Isle’ will be an important location for Intel for decades to come.
It has been my privilege to serve as the @Intel_IRL General Manager for the past 12 years. The time has come for me to take on a new challenge as the interim head of our new development in Magdeberg, Germany.
We have achieved in Ireland what many regarded as unimaginable. I'm grateful for the countless connections made, the unrelenting support of many and the friendships forged.
