It’s Day 4 of #ESICanada! Trying to pick which breakout sessions to attend is like choosing which booktalk to go to when all of them feature your favourite authors and are also handing out ARCs. (An analogy with limited reach but people who care about ES probably relate.)
Today’s sessions of #ESICanada collided two of my professional worlds together. Evidence synthesis met research data management and it was glorious.
In other news, I remain in awe of the amount of content the instructors can cover in half-hour segments. #goals
Day 1 done and dusted. Can’t wait for Day 2.
I think I need to plan more snacks, though… Anyone else get really hungry after a brain workout?
#ESICanada
I think the theme of the week is going to be, “I didn’t know how much I don’t know!” Only an hour in and already had my mind blown several times.
Good thing I packed snacks today!
Just sent in my application for the Evidence Synthesis Institute being presented by @CAPALacbes and @UVicLib.🤞🏻 Mid-August feels very far away!

I’m looking for #SystematicReview training opportunities, and I’m seeing a lot that focusses on researchers and not a lot that focusses on librarians.
BUT I have found a few, and I would love to hear what you think:

Did I dither over minute differences? Or did I thoroughly investigate all available options?
Either way, I submitted a Pro-D funds plan that should see me through to 2026, so I’m counting it a win.
Collaborating on three research projects at different stages in completely unrelated fields, on the same day, makes for a very good day.
[Reason #537 why I became a librarian: I am very curious and also easily bored.]
What other opportunities am I overlooking? Has anyone taken or taught the ones I’ve listed? Any and all input gratefully received!

I can’t forget to mention the Evidence Synthesis Institute Canada, funded by @UVicLib and supported by @CAPALacbes. I do plan to apply, but I’m investigating all options because space is limited and demand will be high!
