Funny thing
When it comes to one's own money, people like to be capitalists, they deserve the things they have due to their hard work/merit
But
When it comes to other's money, specially if others earn more, they want to be socialists and pro-welfare, suddenly sharing is caring

It’s easier to retain good talent over hiring a replacement.
A new trend of offering hikes only when employee resigns reflects poorly on your value system.
Equally pathetic is paying new employees or replacement higher salaries over existing ones.
Pay what he deserves!
