Indeed. When the INDUS VALLEY was part of the ACHAEMENID EMPIRE (c. 550–330 BCE), IMPERIAL ARAMAIC was the empire's official administrative language & its script was used for official administration and inscriptions in parts of the region alongside local languages.
Although Syriac/Aramaic is an endangered language today(on the verge of disappearing) its script was once adopted from North Eastern Africa to as far as Mongolia.
We often emphasize Persian influence on Urdu so much that we overlook the Turko-Mongol influence on it.
Baji (sister), Khatun (lady), Begam (lady), Bahadur (brave), Qenchi (scissors), Chaku (knife), Sughaat (speciality), Qabu (control), and the word Urdu (camp) itself, etc.
Tamgha = (تمغہ)
It comes from Proto-Turkic (tamga) meaning mark & seal. Used to identify property, animal & weapon.
It entered Persian through Turkic & passed into URDU during Delhi Sultanate & Mughal Empire. Its meaning gradually expanded from seal to Badge / medal.

The height of double standards in Modi's India can be seen in the fact that Ashoka is celebrated as peaceful for embracing Buddhism after the devastation of Kalinga, while Akbar is portrayed as a barbaric invader despite embracing Sulh-i-Kul and his policy of universal tolerance.
Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) was first built as an ancient trade route during 3rd c. BCE under Chandragupta MAURYA.
Later upgraded by King ASHOKA, who added trees for shade, wells & rest houses.
It was significantly rebuilt, extended & formalized by SHER SHAH SURI in 16th c.

A decline in exports
Mounting pressure on foreign exchange inflows
Weak fiscal discipline
Rising petroleum prices
Higher import duties
Prolonged slowdown in market
These factors have further deepened Pakistan's economic crisis.
(World Bank report)
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said the country is confident that bilateral trade with the United States can double to $20 billion within the next five years.
Speaking to a US congressional and business delegation in Islamabad, Dar highlighted opportunities in IT, AI, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, and critical minerals.
He said Pakistan aims to attract more investment through improved policies and platforms like SIFC. Dar also emphasized strengthening economic ties, cooperation, and long-term partnerships between Pakistan and the US.

BAS NAM RAHEGA ALLAH KA
echoes Quranic theme that only Allah is eternal
He was one man, elevated above all others, his single face on every surface. What beat him had no face at all. No leader to arrest, no figurehead to smear, no single throat to reach for. A movement named after an insult a judge had thrown at the young, led by nobody, owned by everybody, that took what it came for and went home.
@DanQayyum I have watched videos from their protests where revolutionary Urdu poetry has become a powerful tool for inspiring & mobilising the masses across the country. I think this deserves an article exploring the powerful role of the Urdu language & revolutionary poetry in the movement.
