Real life @TheMorningShow right here in Chicago. This makes me sick. But also not entirely surprised that this could actually happen in real life (also sickening) Via @chicagotribune https://t.co/ZTaikjTseP
Dogs around the world are being trained to sniff out Covid-19 in people. Early studies suggest that their detection rate may surpass that of the rapid antigen testing.
“For dogs, the smell is obvious, just like grilled meat for us,” one scientist said. https://t.co/x5rKvLsscN
Vice President-elect Kamala Harris embodies a shift in the U.S. When her mother left India in 1958, the share of Americans who were immigrants was at its lowest in a century. Today, more than a quarter of adults are immigrants or children of immigrants. https://t.co/xsA7kUe8Cg
Hollywood has given us stories about Latinos, but few specifically focused on those who are American-born or -raised. But such films are worth seeking out. That is why @carlos_film has put together a list of must-watch films centered on American Latinos. https://t.co/ydPPqXEr7S

Today in Asian-American history: Asians are “great,” says Trump. But still very much invisible as the President has no plans to protect them from hate crimes due to #coronavirus.
Trump: "We have to protect our Asian Americans."
Q: What concrete measure are you taking to combat hate crimes against Asian Americans?
Trump: "Well I don't know. All I know is Asian Americans in our country are doing fantastically well. I am very close to them as you know."
Just now, when asked by a reporter, our president said NOTHING to ensure Asian Americans would be protected against hate crimes and discrimination. To say nothing is to be complicit.
COVID-19 is not the “Chinese virus." It is a worldwide pandemic. My administration stands with the Asian community in rejecting these falsehoods and racism. Chicago’s response to this pandemic will be determined by science and compassion, not fear and bigotry.
It is difficult to see pictures of all the people at bars and restaurants, socializing, making play dates, and ignoring social distancing recommendations when I know my husband and many other healthcare workers are risking their lives to treat more sick patients. (4/5)
We owe a profound debt of gratitude to all our health professionals and everybody who’ll be on the front lines of this pandemic for a long while. They’re giving everything. May we all model our own behavior on their selflessness and sacrifice as we help each other through this.
