Colin Brueggemann Appreciation Post!
I'm tellin' ya, OSU fans won't know how valuable this dude was until we look over at 1st base and he's not there anymore. There's gonna be a million times where I, just naturally default to, OH, Colin's got THAT. And that's because he's spoiled us for so long. I don't think he truly ever got the appreciation he deserved for the amount of improvement he made, and how good he became as a defensive 1st baseman.

Job well done on EVERY front, Colin, especially on your play around the bag at 1st base! Much Respect!

And then, we're really gonna miss just the overall impact he had on games. And, also, probably the most underrated part of what I'll miss is the TOTALLY PRO at-bats he put together when he knew his team was on the ropes. When you're 6'6, you're ALWAYS huntin', so there's a fair share of strikeouts to his type of player. But, my goodness, the way he learned, through experience, to lock in, fight, put together a quality at bat, and win the big moments was a pretty phenomenal process to watch.

First year here, he was used more situationally, and did a GREAT job of getting on base, and hitting a ton of doubles, and his fair share of home runs. 2nd year, he started to become more split-neutral, then, in 2025, he really busted out. And SHOULD HAVE gotten drafted.

BUT...He didn't! So, what do you do?

Colin came back to school, had a GREAT Fall, then got off to a pretty slow start in 2026, and, TBH, it took him a minute to get this past season out of neutral. Then HE DID!

Breggy had hits in his last 4 games, and in 7 of his last 8. In that span, he had 4 multi-hit games, he had 3 home runs, 3 doubles, and FIFTEEN RBIs. In fact, in his last 33 games, which date back to the game at DBU, he had FORTY RBIs...WOW!

Dude posted EVERY day, but REALLY showed up when it mattered the MOST.

Thanks for everything, Colin. Here's hoping for good luck in this year's draft and that you get to experience the day you deserve. One last thing, on a personal note, I promise you, making a home, one you can look back on and be proud of, will only become more important to you as you go on. #gopokes #okstaterock

For the 2nd week in a row 16u-American won a tourney. This weekend they won the DSP All-American Classic by knocking off Extreme Elite 10-3. These guys just keep getting better! They’ve got a deep staff that gives them a chance to win on Sundays. Congrats fellas!
