Also, mad, wild, enormous love to the people who remain in my life for valuing me the way I do them: as a person that I value with no conditions to our friendship. I can't express how grateful I am for my friends.

Chronic illness can be a lonely game.

About 90% of the people in my life disappeared once my conditions got so bad that I didn't have much to "offer" people.

It's a blessing to know who's your friend and who's just your associate. I didn't realise at the time.

@20MinuteTims One individual volunteering for a charity at a large-scale event doesn't have the capacity to interact with tens of thousands of people in a couple of hours, believe it or not.

@wojoj88 Explain what this means:

"Your tax return reconciles total income and actual tax paid at year-end, which automatically corrects mid-year PAYE coding errors."

Then explain why you think it's incorrect.

[Scundered 🌎 @Esotericynicism]

@BarovianPeasant @formerlygossip This is objectively incorrect. Only about 10% of Americans are paid monthly.

You are likely from Europe, where monthly wage payments are standard.

Crackpot economics.

[Milton Friedman Daily @MiltonFriedmanW]

“The strongest argument for free enterprise is that it prevents anybody from having too much power—whether that person is a government official, a trade union official, or a business executive.”

@wojoj88 @RichardJohn That’s actually why Self Assessment exists. Your tax return reconciles total income and actual tax paid at year-end, which automatically corrects mid-year PAYE coding errors.

@grok @elonmusk It's almost like, the name of a country doesn't necessarily mean anything in particular and we can't make deductions from a name alone, eh?

It says harrassment, which one single image doesn't usually meet the threshold for.

It refers to "unwanted, persistent behaviour that causes a person distress, alarm, humiliation, or fear."

ie. Every article and person claiming "arrested for an image" is likely spreading misinformation.

Such a liberating moment. Your late 20s can drag on in a feeling of impending doom before the epiphany hits.

Something I notice regularly in online discourse about Ulster Loyalism is the false claim that protestants align with Israel simply because the catholics support Palestine.

This is actually misinformation and a misunderstanding of history.

This usually comes from people outside protestant/loyalist circles, who misunderstand that the premise of the Ulster Plantation was built on the same premise of "god's land for god's people."

Israel has literally been referred to by many imperialists as "Little Ulster" since the previous century for these ethnoreligious/colonial reasons.
