GOOD NEWS: Last night, around 1AM, bandits attacked Rafin Gora, a Fulani settlement in Tandama Ward, Dandume LGA, Katsina State. The raid left one resident injured and resulted in the theft of hundreds of cattle.
Community members, working alongside local vigilantes and Katsina Community Watch Committee (CWC) in Dandume, pursued the attackers and successfully recovered 100 stolen cattle.
The attack comes despite a peace agreement between LGA stakeholders and bandits ahead of Ramadan, showing ongoing insecurity in the area.
BREAKING: Bandits are currently in Tulo community under Wawar-Kaza ward, Kankara LGA of Katsina State. Security assistance is needed in the community & surrounding communities.

Nasarawa councillor abducted along Doma–Yelwa road

A serving councillor representing Doka Ward in Doma Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Muhammad Onumenya, has been abducted.
He was reportedly kidnapped on Feb. 23 at about 7:35 p.m. along the Doma–Yelwa Village Road while travelling within the area.
Following the report, a patrol team, alongside members of vigilante groups and local hunters, was mobilised to comb the surrounding bushes in search of the victim.
As of the time of filing this report, no trace of the councillor had been found.
Search operations are ongoing by the security agencies with efforts being intensified to secure his safe return and identify those responsible for the abduction.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could aid the rescue efforts.

One killed as suspected IPOB/ESN militants attack Ogbakoba Market in Anambra

A 15-year-old boy was killed while security operatives repelled an attack by suspected members of the proscribed IPOB/ESN militia at Ogbakoba Market Arena in Anambra State.
Sources said the incident occurred on Feb. 21 at about 1:40 p.m., when a group of armed hoodlums emerged from a dense forest camp at Amiyi and opened sporadic fire at market-goers, apparently attempting to kidnap or rob residents.
A joint task force patrol team stationed at Amiyi responded swiftly, engaging the attackers in a fierce gun duel that forced them to retreat into the forest with bullet wounds. The injured boy was rushed to the village hospital but was confirmed dead on arrival. His body was deposited in the morgue for autopsy and preservation.
The sources added that later the same day at about 8:30 p.m., the armed group resurfaced near the community, snatching a shuttle bus with registration number HAL 987 XA and a GSM phone belonging to one Mr. Kinsley Iwunze of Okpotuno Odekpe, Ogbaru LGA.
Security operatives immediately dispatched teams to the scene, but the hoodlums had fled. Authorities said an aggressive manhunt was ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects.
BANDITS ATTACK YANDOMA IN KATSINA, ONE KILLED AS SECURITY FORCES RESCUE ABDUCTEES
Last night, bandits attacked Yandoma town in Ingawa LGA of Katsina State, killing one person and abducting several residents. Witnesses said the bandits invaded the community under the cover of darkness, shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic among villagers.
Security operatives responded swiftly to the distress calls, pursued the attackers into the surrounding areas, and successfully rescued all the abducted victims. Authorities have not yet disclosed further operational details, but residents confirmed that the captives were safely returned following the rapid intervention.
The attack comes weeks after stakeholders in Ingawa LGA reportedly sealed a peace deal with bandit groups in Kankia, raising fresh concerns about the sustainability of such agreements and the persistent security challenges facing rural communities in the state.

Joint troops repel bandit attack in Katsina, neutralise two and recover motorcycle

Joint troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA have repelled an armed bandit attack in Gida Soda Village, Katsina State, neutralising two attackers and recovering a motorcycle, security sources said.
The incident reportedly occurred at about 12:45 a.m. on Feb. 17 when suspected bandits stormed the village. Troops, acting promptly in coordination with local police and Civil Watch Patrol Teams, engaged the attackers in an intense gunfight, forcing the criminals to flee.
During the operation, two of the bandits were neutralised, and a Boxer-brand motorcycle belonging to the group was recovered.
Tragically, one resident, Hassana Muhammad, 30, was reportedly fatally shot during the attack. She was rushed to Dansoda Hospital, where she was pronounced dead by medical personnel.
Sources said efforts to track fleeing bandits and secure the area are ongoing.
Bandit attack in Zamfara leaves one dead, three abducted

Armed bandits have killed a man, injured another, and abducted three people during attacks in Magazu and Fadama areas of Zamfara State, sources said.
According to sources, the attack occurred in the early hours of Feb. 17 when gunmen invaded the western part of Magazu Village, shooting and injuring Aliyu Musa. His neighbour, Ibrahim Haruna, who reportedly came to assist, was shot dead.
In a separate raid later in the same area, gunmen stormed Fadama, abducting three persons, including Abdulhakim Salmanu, 46, and two others whose identities are yet to be confirmed.
Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA were mobilized to the scene, but the attackers had fled before their arrival. Efforts to rescue the abducted victims and track down the perpetrators are ongoing.
Armed bandits attack Konkoso Village, kill two in Niger

Armed bandits have killed two people and razed homes during an attack on Konkoso Village in Niger State, security sources said.
According to sources, the incident occurred at about 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 17 when a large group of bandits invaded the village, shot two residents whose identities are yet to be confirmed, and set several houses on fire.
The attackers also looted shops and carted away food items before leaving Konkoso Village and moving toward Pissa Village in Pissa District.
Authorities said efforts are ongoing to track the bandits and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
Two suspected kidnappers killed, rifle recovered in Akwa Ibom operation

Two suspected kidnappers were fatally wounded and a firearm recovered during a security operation along waterways in Akwa Ibom State.
Security sources said the operation was carried out at about 11:10 p.m. on Feb. 16 following intelligence on the activities of a militant group known as the “Blin Blin Marine Strike Force,” allegedly operating along the Uruan waterways and Itu waterfronts.
The sources said a tactical team conducting a clearance operation at Ikot Ika waterfront encountered the suspects in a gun duel. During the exchange, one officer sustained gunshot injuries and was rushed to hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.
Two members of the group were neutralised during the encounter, while others reportedly escaped through the waterways with gunshot wounds.
Items recovered from the suspects included a G3 assault rifle and four rounds of live ammunition.
Preliminary findings indicated that the group was allegedly led by Ubong Effiong Archibong, also known as “Condiment,” who was on a wanted list over alleged involvement in several kidnapping and violent crime incidents within the state.
Sources added that operations were ongoing to track down fleeing members of the gang and dismantle the remaining network.
