@SimonCalder This just seems to be their way of wriggling out of paying compensation. As I understand it, the cabling in the airport needs replacing. This would takes months or years. Surely the airlines cannot continue to cancel at such short notice?

@SimonCalder For reasons you correctly identified in your recent article, most of the cancelled flights are from the UK. But the airlines are cancelling with less than 24 hours notice (the fire happened over 2 weeks ago) citing "Extraordinary circumstances".
