The best doctors, the old guard, who view medicine as a calling rather than a business, are quietly retiring.
There's a gentleness & decency about them that's hard for me to explain but impossible to miss.

Starting to think everybody’s obsession with getting weirdly jacked is sublimated anxiety over the coming collapse of civilization (wildly negligent approach to climate change, global inequality, &c). It’s like everyone is preparing for war.
