Had an encounter at the pharmacy recently & want to repost my homeopathy tweetorial.
You may have seen stuff like this at the pharmacy in the cold & flu aisle. It looks gentle, benign, but medicinal.
It is utter quackery and you’re wasting your money.
Let’s look at why.
If like me you've run hundreds of minipreps but never bothered to read up on why they extract plasmid but not chromosomal DNA, a recent tweet by @joel_rosenbaum finally motivated me to look it up. From Biennium and Doly 1979:
So thrilled that our work is now live @PLOSPathogens! This collaborative study revealed that human coronaviruses disassemble cytoplasmic RNA-protein granules called p-bodies. P-bodies regulate gene expression post-transcriptionally. 1/

Right on schedule, it’s the annual holiday reminder that self-appointed “researchers” without any type of doctorate are the primary purveyors of hot takes on who should use the title of Doctor.
A bit inside virology, but #omicron grows very poorly and causes very little CPE.
This makes interpretation of replication data difficult since most measures are dependent on CPE based measures. Doesn’t mean that data is wrong, but magnitudes maybe a bit fuzzy.
We have completed our first experiments on neutralization of Omicron by Pfizer BNT162b2 vaccination elicited immunity
