i watched marcello hernandez on brittany broski's royal court. he said that he gets himself out of bed every morning by saying, "wake up, papi. it's time to live!"
i actually really love that.
wake up.
it's time to live.

@TheStevenDwayne I cannot explain enough how much I hate the saying “we ain’t our ancestors” as if our ancestors were just weak or something when they’ve endured a lot.
It’s taken me two full days to respond to all my texts. I hadn’t been on social media until today and I’m overwhelmed by all the messages here too. So much love.
So I can’t help but to be filled completely with gratitude…
My story has been nothing short of remarkable and I am truly blessed to have had such an illustrious, accolade-laden and, most importantly, fun-filled career. I made my childhood dream become the most wonderful reality.
Throughout this journey, I’m so thankful to have been surrounded by great friends and to have built so many unbreakable connections with people that I’m very proud to call my family.
Most people go through life without ever experiencing a love like I have for Woods and E. That bond alone would have made this whole experience worth it.
There are far too many people to mention by name here, but to everyone who has ever supported me, guided me, helped me, taught me, cheered for me, praised me, stood up for me, and even rooted against me: Thank you. I appreciate you more than words can say.
My main mission has always been a simple one: To provide a comfortable life filled with heartwarming memories for my family. And, largely in part to all of you, I can proudly say that I have achieved that goal and more.
This wasn’t supposed to be a novel, so let me wind it down with some advice:
Do your best to live a life without regrets, control what you can control, always give it your all, and fight hard for what you believe in.
Do not ever compromise or accept less than your due when it comes to your worth.
Find the courage to believe in yourself and fearlessly pursue your goals and dreams, because anything is possible.
The kid that was too small, short, skinny, and scrawny was never supposed to make it in this land of giants…yet here we are.
And so…
…as the sun sets on one chapter, so too must it rise in another. Tomorrow is indeed…a New Day. ☀️
For the past 16 years, WWE has been my home. It’s where I grew up, found myself, failed, learned, and got to live out things the younger version of me could only dream about.
When I first walked into FCW, I just wanted a chance to prove I belonged and to bring something different to professional wrestling. That chance became a life full of moments I’ll carry with me forever — WrestleMania, championships, King of the Ring, arenas around the world, and the gift of connecting with all of you by being myself.
The New Day gave me a bond with @TrueKofi and @WWEBigE that I’ll cherish for life. You believed in us, even when our ideas were wild, and because of that, we got to show people that being unapologetically yourself is a strength.
UpUpDownDown became another piece of that same mission: a place for joy, friendship, and humanity. I’m so thankful to everyone, past and present, who helped build it brick by brick.
To the locker room, producers, trainers, crew, camera teams, ring crew, everyone behind the scenes, and the props department - thank you. WWE has the most special and hardest working props department that youll ever find. Love you guys and none of this happens without you.
And to everyone who has been part of this ride: thank you for believing in me. Thank you for letting me be Xavier Woods. Thank you for giving me the confidence… to walk away as Austin Creed.
This is meant as a huge compliment, but The New Day are potentially the best serious wrestlers who can be goofy at a moment’s notice ever.
Absolute heroes for 👇 alone. 😂
Addressing the mind numbing “it’s a business. New Day don’t draw” comments that have popped up on some posts.
Is maintaining locker room morale not important for business? Is having two of the most talented, trustworthy, well respected stars in the industry at your disposal not good for business?
When stars like Kofi and Woods - who had been with WWE for 18 and 16 years respectively - are asked to restructure their deals only a year after signing them, what message does that send to your employees? Basically that the contracts they sign are worth nowhere near the amount that is written on them. That, despite TKO raking in BILLIONS of dollars, they will still cut costs when they could actually pay talent much more, while still being immensely profitable.
If you want to make new stars, it is good for business to have excellent, seasoned veterans of Kofi and Woods’ calibre to help nurture those stars into main event talents.
Not every wrestler is supposed to be ‘a draw’. There is an EXTREMELY finite amount of genuine top tier ‘draws’ who move numbers. Even in golden eras of wrestling. That being said, if New Day had stayed with WWE, turned babyface tomorrow and released a ton of new merch, they would have been selling like hot cakes immediately.
New Day’s heel run was a bust because there was no creative follow up to the stunningly executed turn on Big E. Basically, the entire thing was booked as one spectacular moment. Not the fault of Kofi or Woods. That is the fault of creative.
TKO believed Kofi and Woods were both worth new, seven-figure deals just last year. So what changed from then until now?
The “it’s a business/New Day don’t draw” crowd. Riddle us this: Was it good for business to book WrestleMania in Las Vegas twice in a row? Or to raise ticket prices so high, demand for them declined rapidly, forcing huge emergency discounts and special offers left, right and centre? How about tanking a long awaited main event by inserting……Pat McAfee and Jelly Roll in there? Their own broadcasts now have fans chanting “F**K TKO”. Does that sound like good business?
If only guaranteed draws are safe from the chopping block, then only roughly 1% of WWE’s roster is safe from being released or asked to restructure. Steady hands, seasoned vets, beloved older stars, they are all essential in making a wrestling promotion work to its full capabilities. Not everyone is Roman Reigns or John Cena or Steve Austin.
Sometimes, you let lifers be lifers. You let them keep spirits high backstage and on the road. You trust them with new talent or in emergencies when bigger stars go down with injuries. You keep them around because in a chaotic industry, they are rare, reliable commodities that will never let you down and can work up and down the card. That is worth so much more than any seven figure contract you could ever give them.
Thank God for the New Day.
@WrestleFeatures It's the WWE conundrum of 'go out there and show us what you got!'
But you're only allowed to do what's booked and written for you. And then your performance between these parameters aren't judged consistently anyway. It's weird.
