Great night celebrating the 40th Anniversary Gala of the Metropolitan Black Bar Association of New York @MBBANYC. Couldn’t be prouder to serve on the board of directors with these amazing lawyers.
Joined All In with Chris Hayes along with Ret. Judge Diane Kiesel (who I tried my first case in front of) to discuss Trump’s defense thus far in the hush money trial, particularly in light of David Pecker’s recent testimony.
As a firm, it’s important for us to serve as an example. Because as a people, there’s so much more we can do. The world needs to know that, and our people need to see that. Right at the intersection of 125th Street and Lenox Avenue in Harlem. #HamiltonClarkeLLP#blackexcellence
@KeithSmithNBA I can’t think of a legit playmaking four, in the history of playmaking 4’s (Webber, Garnett, etc.) who didn’t have a jump shot. You can’t make a play, especially in playoffs, if no one is respecting your shot.
My article on the practical and constitutional issues with virtual jury trials in criminal cases was recently published in the ABA’s Criminal Litigation Committee Newsletter: https://t.co/1RrebrfzsJ
@s_phia_@ria_kuru@_chismosa_ And it’s probably best to just stick with “I will not speak to you without my lawyer present,” because Salinas v. Texas threw the alleged 5th Amendment “right” to remain silent under the bus. Especially if you’re being arrested by the feds or outside of NY.
@Chloethedev I don’t know how much law you practice in The United States, but what I said stands, and here’s the U.S. Supreme Court case that set the precedent regarding U.S. law enforcement having the right to order/drag you out of the car: https://t.co/KVlbuY9P6O
@elaineflowers33 @ReaganGomez My larger implied point is if they wanted to drag him (or you, or any of us) out of the car, generally, they legally can. Thus, when the situation is already dangerous enough (to your point) when they pull us over, no need to escalate it by pissing them off.
@ReaganGomez Glad he made it home, but black people, we have to understand that an order by police officers to get out of a car MUST be followed, because generally, they have the right to order it. Refusing to get out of the car is usually when things go south for us and/or we end up dead.
@jemelehill being from Detroit, watching The Last Dance, and getting to know the Bulls more personally feels just like watching Ferris and his crew eating french fries and having a good time after shooting Ricky in Boyz n the Hood.
Season 2 of The Wire easily explains and predicts Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania in the 2016 election. Dem strategizers should be binge watching for guidance right now.
No matter what we’re going through, it’s never as bad as the moment Dr. Richard Kimble realized two moron DT’s were trying to pin him for a murder committed by a one armed man.
