I can’t stop looking at this photo. You can feel the warmth that all our journalists had, the tenderness and care they had for the earth and all the creatures of the land.
Israel continues to extinguish that light.
Seven-year-old Anwar al-Ashi died this morning from acute kidney failure after Israeli approval to leave Gaza for urgent medical treatment abroad never came.
He is one of thousands of patients trapped in Gaza, waiting for life-saving care that remains out of reach.
One year ago today, Israel targeted and murdered Khaled Nabhan, the soul of all of our souls. The world watched him bid farewell to his grandchildren, Reem and Tariq, as he kissed their eyelids and wrapped their tiny bodies for burial. They spent decades and billions trying to dehumanize the bearded thobe-wearing Muslim man. Khaled, and thousands of Palestinians, shattered that propaganda simply by lifting their cameras. We will always remember you, we will never forget, and we will never forgive.
