The Humans Who Feed Us portrait exhibit will expand to be showcased in places where food is served and sold around the United States, from restaurants to universities, all as we call on Congress to create a pathway to citizenship and protections for immigrant essential workers.
The national launch of @humanswhofeedus features the unique stories of 20+ immigrant essential workers in different parts of the food supply chain, including farmers, farmworkers and dairy, poultry, restaurant & grocery workers, to showcase their contributions to our food system
Essential workers plant, pick, pack, transport, sell, prepare and serve the food that sustains us. Many of them are immigrants. They are the #HumansWhoFeedUs. As we approach a season of celebrations & big meals, we honor them.
Mil gracias to @paolamendoza for her work in sharing the stories of immigrant essential workers. Visit @mujerxsrising Virtual Altar to share stories of your loved ones: https://t.co/OuE6CkwlxV
Essential workers put their lives on the line during COVID-19. Many of them had no choice, and many of them died while trying to keep our communities safe and healthy. This year on Día de los Muertos, we #HonorEssentialWorkers lives and their contributions. 🧵
We share the stories of #EssentialWorkers, such as that of Yimel who was determined to make a better future for her mother, her sister, and herself. We honor you, Yimel.

Latinas make just 57 cents, on average, for every $1 made by white, non-Hispanic men. Over the course of a 40 year career, Latinas stand to lose more than $1 million. We're outraged-are you? On #LatinaEqualPay Day we are DEMANDING more.
Latinas in Ohio are paid $15.35 in essential jobs and $14.71 in nonessential jobs. In comparison, White non-hispanic men are paid $20.22 in essential jobs and $23.94 in nonessential jobs. #LatinaEqualPay@MonicaRamirezOH@mujerxsrising
We would be remiss if we do not point out that this .57 cent to the dollar likely does not count many women. The average pay gap is based on the wages that are reported. @MonicaRamirezOH@mujerxsrising#LatinaEqualPay
